| Many of you might be aware of Thanksgiving Day celebrated in North America. It is a tradition in North America too, similar to Pongal, Sankranthi, Baisakhi, etc. to give thanks at the conclusion of the harvest season. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States and on the second Monday of October in Canada. Families and friends gather for a reunion, "a day of thanks", and a festive meal. We thought this is a good season to think about thanking someone. In the busy busy life these day, many times we don't take the time to thank, isn't it? We might want to thank our parents, spouse, kids or someone else in the family, or friends, may be a colleague or office boy, or a teacher at our kids school, why not the servant maid who come home daily, etc. While we can think of many such people whom we want to thank for something or the other, let's get thinking whom we want to "Thank" the most for something special they did to our life. Just pick one such person to whom you want to convey your special thanks. Write to us whom you want to thank and for what. You are sure to receive a special thanks giving gift from IndusLadies for the best of the best thanks that you conveyed. Hurry up, think about thanking! Note: Contest ends on November 30th, 2007. Contest entries should be private messaged to the username 'contest'. Winner of this contest is announced here.

| Hi, I have a question.Pongal, Baisakhi, and sankranthi, are they not the festivals celeberated at the end of the harvest. I know for sure Pongal is. It is in a way Thanksgiving....not in November, but in January, because our harvest season is different....Just wanted to bring this up, because, I feel we have festivals for everything....and how can we miss harvest? As for thanksgiving, we do thank Sun God on that day. However, I must say, the contest is a good one. To choose one person to thank in Life seems tough.I will post my entry soon... Regards, Yamuna. |
