    Memorable Moments of 2010
    Well...
The year 2010 was a mixture of happiness and few unpleasant moments.
    Let me pour out both.

By January 2010 only i came back to Bangalore after 8 months of my maternity leave with my sweet DS and in-laws.
My DH had shifted our house which is close to my office so that i can come home early to take care of my sweet DS.

On January 10, 2010 - the day i resumed back to work i could still remember. The whole day i wasnt able to act normal
at office. i was just checking my system time to tick "5.00 PM" as i had no major work. i was missing my DS badly.
Once i reached home, my DS gave a loud laugh and he literally jumped from my MIL to me.
That moment, i felt like being in heaven. Inspite of my MILs warning, i cried with laughter.:)

On April 25 2010, we planned for the head shaving function of our sweet DS. He was just trying to stand with a hold.
It was a fun-filled reunion with relatives from my side and DH's after our wedding.
We along with our DS enjoyed the day and my DS looked cho sweet without hair.:)

On June 6 2010, we celebrated our DS's first B'day.
Though only my parents and in-laws along with 2 cousins were there from our side.
We invited few neighbours. i decorated our house and i was appreciated for it as well. DS for the first time
tasted the black-forest cake and he was so happy that i offered him before his demand.
So it became a happiest day for our DS and us too. :)

On July 2010 (End of that month), i was tested positive for my second pregnancy. We all felt happy.
But my in-laws had few concerns as our DS was just 1 year old. But no hard feelings from them.
By that month only my DS stepped his first walk. So it doubled our delight.

In between, my salary was revised and got promoted too :)

On October 2010, donno whether i have to mention it here. But still...
I had a miscarriage which affected me both physically and mentally.
The 5 days of my hospitalization without seeing my DS(he was advised to not visit me in hospital by the doctor) and missing my second kid, felt like being in hell.
From then(still), whenever i see any pregnant ladies i am not able control my tears.
March 30 2011 was told as my due date.

But again my DS turned my life as he started calling me as Amma and his dad as Appa, even he calls his grandparents as "Avva", "thaatha"

On November 2010, we went for a short trip to mysore. This was planned by my DH to get me out of depression.
And it was our first exclusive picnic after marriage. Yes we didnt goto honeymoon yet as i got conceived soon after our marriage. Enjoyed the tour with family a lot. Our LO enjoyed the car travel a lot 'coz he loves to watch the passing scenary. He was questioning "Ma...ummmm" (that was his language) by pointing to bullocks and other things all along the way.

Each day when he learnt(learns) new good things like speaking, identifying objects, showing signs ...all are so memorable
He makes my(our) day busy round the clock.

Apart from the tough times with in-laws(which is more common with most of us), the year 2010 was indeed a memorable year.

    Cheers,
    MahiSree:thumbsup

LIfe is always pandora of happy & sad moments. So i am fortunate to have many happy moments.
2010 was really good year for me.

During the month of March I came to know i was pregnant. My happiness knew no bound. It was my first pregnancy. Every-time i went for check-up, i was always thrilled to hear my baby's heart beat. As my 9 months pregnancy was approaching, my excitement kept increasing

When "the day" finally came I was the happiest person in the world. It was one of the best memorable moments which i would remember during my lifetime. It was first time i held my baby. He was born on sept 25th. The moment i held my baby, i forgot all my labour pains. It was such a experience. I couldn't sleep though i was tired. I just wanted to look at my son all time.

So 2010 was really good for me. I enjoyed it & am enjoying 2011 too. :)

I have 1&1/2 yrs old son. I was tarvelling to Bangalore in train. We meet lot of new people in every jounery like that I met a couple with two kids(elder kid 5yrs, young one 1&1/2 yrs. We generally talked about the childs activity, bangalore Wheather, etc. When the clock Struck 9 p.m. the lady gave a syrup to his younger kid, she spilled some on my slipper & the child hesitate to drink it , but the lady forced him to drink. With in 15 mins he slept. After that she told me that her son used to sleep late at night and so she used to give him sleeping pills during travel (with doctors permission)& she enquired about my son .I told her that he also sleep late at night. Then she advised me to give that syrup to my son , i said "no" immediately . she asked me twice but I refused. At mid-night, 2 a.m. the younger boy started crying he cried for 1/2 an hour, they can't find any reason for his cry. This incident in 2010 is most memorable, how a child is ruined.

Well, I was thinking of writing a blog on the same topic. I accidentally stumbled upon this thread. So posting it here.

    July 29th 2010

It was my birthday. Of course, birthdays come every year isn't it? All birthdays are special in some way or the other. But this year was something really special for me. I decided I was not going to spend my birthday the usual way, like with friends, going out for dinner, etc. There was a home for the aged nearby my house. I always watch it telling myself that someday I should visit that place everytime I walk across the building. On my birthday, I went to the home. There were 8 paatis (grandma) and 2 thaathas (grandpa). First there was a pooja. Then they asked me to serve food to the elders. First I was a bit reluctant, but then it felt good. After everyone ate, all of them blessed me individually. That feeling is something I can never express in words. I felt emotionally attached to each one of them.

    Sep 17th 2010

I have never given a thought about writing until I joined this site. Only after joining IL did I get some courage to write short stories. As always ILites gave me a warm welcome and motivated me with their feedbacks. With their encouragement I sent my stories to a magazine. I totally forgot about it later. I thought they will be getting innumerable entries and wont even bother to read mine. But I was proved wrong. On Sep 17th 2010, I received a mail confirmation from the editor of the magazine that my story will be published. Wow...It felt so great. It was just a simple one page story, no big deal. But the recognition was so exciting. Again, I can never put that in words. On 26th sep 2010, I saw my story in the magazine. It was another thrilling moment.

    Oct 23rd 2010

I always wanted to visit orphanages, but never really tried. I just kept telling myself I dont have time. But then I thought I should not keep fooling myself for a long time. So, for diwali celebration, I went to an orphanage, gave some of my old dresses. I also bought some biscuit packets and distributed to the kids. They were so happy, wished me for Diwali. It was a very nice feeling. There was this particular kid (hardly 5 or 6 years), he kept on asking me for additional biscuits. I felt so happy and sad. I was so touched, I could not control my tears. That kid was so adorable, he was going on asking me "One more akka, please". I can never forget him. I still wonder how some people can dump their loved ones just like that like some garbage.

Thanks for the wonderful opportunity to share my memorable moments.

    Hello One & All,

Almost all of us ll have some memorable moment it can be pleasant or unpleasant.
My most memorable moment last year was not a good one I met with an accident.. very minor accident as per my medical records but am not able to move my legs till now .Anyways all is for good I have learnt some lessons through this accident

First one is , we should be carefull while driving vechicle (should not divert our mind)
I came to know about who is good & bad I mean to say who cares for me & loves me & who is not.
I came to know how people behave when we fall sick.
and the most important thing I came to know about my professional competition and the ppl involved in my work.I've got a woman's ability to stick to a job and get on with it when everyone else walks off and leaves it.

Got support & care from few family members & co-workers.

I am over coming from pain & frustration

    I strongly believe in , I can - I think I can

    Hope I'll get well soon

Every moment is an experience for us
This was my last years memorable experience.Hope everything will be alright in this 2011.

    I wish you all a ROCKING 2011!
    Have a great year ahead!

    Regards,

    Devi

As for anybody the new-year 2010 dawned upon me with new year wishes from my friends, relatives and of course with the TV programs. After much pestering and almost fighting ,I finally saved my attractive diary from my kids and started jotting down my new-year resolutions."I'll not be cross with my kids and hubby over silly reasons".With this first resolution broken even before it was created then went my second."I'll fill atleast few lines in this diary daily" But at the year end it was transformed in to my son's rough note.By now we can come to a conclusion that new year resolutions are made specially to be broken. To this many of you will agree but to those who don't agree I dedicate a royal salute!Apart from festive occasions, gossips at get togethers ,marriages attended a monotonous life of cooking, eating sleeping, cooking, eating ...enthralled me as any housewife is cursed.Inorder to keep pace with the advancing technical education, I joined a web designing class.I felt as though i were a college girl. But i was shocked when our classmates called me aunty. Our master a fresher from engineering college would not even mind to teach me flash or photo shop. His look would mean "What are you going to do with all these?",SomehowI convinced my classmates and made them call me akka.
those three months I relived my college days.In the month of september,I went to kolkatta ,sikkim and orissa with the members of a ladies club. For the first time after my 13 years of marriage I went on a long tour without my kids and husband.I felt like a free bird but within a few days i missed them a lot. I longed to be back with them terribly. On our way back i flew for the first time from Kolkatta to Chennai. That was really a wonderful experience.when me and my friend were very much excited and taking snaps in the flight, others looked at us humorously over the fuss we made inside the flight for the first time.
this is the year i opened my profile in the facebook.Reducing my weight by few pounds was one of my new year resolutions. From the day i listed aerobics as my interested activity in the FB profile ,i had missed my regular workouts for sitting before my PC and now i am here before you typing this article with fewextra pounds added to my weight. And do you know friends my new diary is on my desk smiling at me with a set of new resolutions jotted down and ofcourse to be broken in the near future

    Dear All,

Me too is having some unforgettable moments in my life during 2010.

The day me and my husband came back to our house at Kochi for resettlement after six long years. Even though we had our own house, we actually cleared off somany main things before leaving from Kochi. Like Transferred the vehicles, furnitures, disposed the kitchen storeage items, beds and bed spreads, TV and telephone connections etc

So when we came to Kochi during jan 2010, we felt like the day we started our life immediately after our wedding ( except the age factor ) !!!!!!!.

We were thrilled to list out the essentials, run for getting phone and tv connection, collecting all the needed things one by one and socialising with our family and old friends and travelling in scooter after a long time. I think that was the most memorable moment in my life during 2010.

The second one is a call from both my second son and DIL in one fine mornig that they both have started doing their higher education. ( CFA and Phd respectively). I was always on the opinion in this and used to presurrise them for a long time.

There were memorable moments on all the holidays of our grand kids when they were with us at Kochi without their parents.

Wish you all a happy 2011 and may god bless everybody.

Thank you for this wonderful contest.

    Vande Matharam.

2010 started with a bad taste, with my sister in law hospitalised and once she came home, my husband was hospitalised. Both got well. My husband started taking medication for diabetes regularly after hospitalisation.

Then it was wedding bells for my niece. She is the only grand daughter in the whole family and we were all so excited. First the engagement, then planning for the wedding, then shopping, then the religious functions in connection with the wedding- all went on well. Her wedding was celebrated in Guruvayur in June, in a good manner. It was also my 23rd wedding anniversay.

I got 3 new sarees - one from my brother for the wedding, another from my husband for the anniversary and the third one my husband got for me from Srirangam temple (the saree which had adorned Ranganayagi Thayar is auctioned in the temple and hubby got one for me). We had a great time at Guruvayur, attending the wedding and visiting the temple.

Then the most important happening- stopping medicines for my son. He was under medications for years and since his health had improved, his medicines were slowly withdrawn and finally stopped in September. This is a very memorable occasion for me.
