Who would you send? - Contest for the month of September

Dear IL ites,

Are you curious to know what's going to be this month's special contest? Are you anxious to participate in it? Ok, now read on...

We had contests related to everyone around us...deciding for a sister on choosing her partner, cooking for a sudden guest from husband's office, gifting for a 80-year old father and so on. Isn't it time to have a contest related to our kids with majority of us here being ladies in the age range of 20+ to 40+ (though we have some 50s, 60s and senior citizens).

Let's imagine that you have twins - a boy and a girl. Assume both have finished their schooling and are ready to go to the university.

Now, here comes the tough situation. You are financially capable to support only one of their education abroad, while you can make the other one study in a local college / university. That being the case...

"Who would you send?" is the question for this month's contest.

Both are equally good in their studies. Both are equally interested in doing their higher studies abroad and have been chasing their own dreams.

No beating around the bush saying I'll explain my situation to my children and ask themselves to decide. You have got to decide (it's tough isn't it?) and convince them on your decision.

Remember, both are your loving kids!

Let us know who would you send? What made you decide it this way? How would you convince yourself as well as your children?

my god induslady,

you really have made it really tuff on the parents like me.. i have a son and a daughter. both are real good. ofcourse there is some more time... i really dont wnat to think on those lines...

Thank you for your appreciations about the contest ideas.

While we make the contest interesting, we also want to make sure it is informative and thoughtful for people in their daily life.

I understand your anxiety in knowing the results of the contest from your suggestion. However, we give more time for members to think about the contest and come up with wonderful entries. Also, short term contests do not get good number of entries is our experience.

We do not want it to be really tuff for parents like you on deciding when such a situations comes up (God forbid, it needn't come). We thought this contest and the wonderful ideas that come in the form of entries from all IL'ites will help parents like you to be well prepared to handle such a tough situation.
