Need help deciding day care

Ladies,

I need your suggestion in making a decision on day care.

My little one was in a home day care since she was 4 months old till she was 11 months old. We lost the spot after our extended India visit. And so I started leaving our DD in a different day care chain for the past 1.5 months.
But recently got a call from the home day care that there will be an opening soon.

This home day care
· Is good
· Had no infants earlier but has 3 infants (4 months) old now.
· Age group ranges from infant to 5 years old. There are about 15 kids (3 care takers)
· It is VERY close to our house
· Is a little less pricey than the one which she goes to now

The other day care chain to which our little one goes now
· Is good
· Age group of the class is 12-24 months old. A little more spacious
· Has about 10 kids (2 care takers)
· Is a little far from our house
· A little pricey than the earlier one

I’m in a fix now. The little one has gotten accustomed to the new day care. And am sure she will get used to the old one in a few days if we decide to move her.
The only factor that makes us consider the move is the distance.

Please help me decide on this.

The only thing which worries me is that the home daycare has 3 caregivers and 3 babies under 6 months - that would mean very little time/supervision left over for the other kids. Based only on that I would opt to continue where she is right now. Only you can decide if the cost/distance are worth the move.

I would also continue in the day care chain if I was in this situation. Given that the age group they handle is from 12 - 24 months, the care taken for each child will be equal and no situation like 4 infants need more attention than for 8 toddlers.. Do not compromise on the attention and learning that your kid will get even if the dist is a little far, JMO.
