dry skin??

hi,
My son is 20 months. I am in Bangalore. Suddenly my son has developed severe dry patches near his hips and back. I am applying vaseline. J&J lotion.
He is scratching the area also. it is there for past 1 wk -10 days.


any suggestions or home remedy ? I am planning to take him to the doc. this weekend.

Not sure abvout the problem prabha..You can try applying coconut oil to the dry areas.Do not give bath in very hot water which may dry skin.

Please check with a pediatrician..could be infant eczema,my second one has it too...

Thanks for the note. How do i diagnose eczema?. any specific symptoms i need to look for?.any special instructions to avoid or control the condition?

hope by this time ur son problem wud be solved,i had same problem with my kid when v were in b'lore one yr back it cud be bec of climate variation but with no option we went to skin specialist there.after coming to US also i had same issue but with my friend advice i bought Aveeno baby moistorisier and tried still now i don't have any problem with her skin.

primarily thing is we shud apply moisturisier after the bath daily so as to keep it soft and silky.this cream really helps a lot but iam not sure whether we will get in india but i guess we can good substitute for that hope this post helps.
