Hi supriya

iam following this routine for my child from he is 1yr old..u can follow this if u really want ur son to take a nap in afternoon n go to bed early at nights...

i wake him up at 7-30am or max 8:00am ( if he is not waking up also u have wake him for first couple of days)

so here breakfast will be at 9:00am, then playtime, tv time....
then give lunch at 12-12:30 pm
after lunch go with him and tell a story n put him to sleep , he will surely sleep..
and make sure by 3:30 - 4:00pm wake him up if he does not get by his own...
give him some snack in evening, dinner at 8:30 9:00pm
by 9:30 give him good oil massage n put him to sleep...

if u follow this daily same timings he will get used to this this...n daily he will go to sleep at same time..

Hi Skavi and Lalitha..Good to know about your kid's routine.I wake up my son at 9 am ..so that i finish all work and get ready myself.Once he wakes up I cannot do much work.Thats why I think he is not sleeping in the noon.
THinking how to change.

All mother's of toddlers are welcome to share their kids routine here.

Hi Supriya,

My daughter is 1 and half years old.Pretty much she is doing the same thing since 4-5 months. She wakes up around 7 or 7.30 (max)

Breakfast around 9.30-10.00
Lunch around 12.30-1.00
Sleeps from 1.30 to 3/3.30 (depends)
Evening snacks
Dinner around 8
Milk around 9
Sleep around 9.30/10.00

I just have difficulty with her afternoon sleep ,she can't take a nap for continuous 2 hrs ,i have to lie down with her.She won't go into deep sleep too.Night sleep is little bit better for her.

Hi ALL

Does ur rooms r dark enough that they can sleep well...bec if ur room is little bright also they cannot sleep...so try putting some curtain (if u have blinds also). or u can try covering the window with the big blanket. by the way no phone on ur side please, put ur phone on ringer off mode for couple of days..

hope this helps...

hi lalitha...

Don't worry if he is sleeping at 9:30pm and getting at 7:00 or 7:30am its good for him...at a stretch he is getting 10 hrs sleep..anyway many kids after 4 they won't sleep in the afternoon.

Make sure u follow his night timings without fail...after some days he will be use to it...

.but i know u won't get ur afternoon time for urself.
