Hi friends, Just share me when did babies sleep through the night, my daughter usually wakes up every 2 hrs for feeding, is it normal or if i need to change pls give me some ideas. Sasi
Night feeding not necessary when baby is over 6 months but it is not easy to get rid of the habit. So much easier to take the little one to the breast than trying to get the little one to continue sleeping. Put the father to take care of the baby for a few nights, he cannot breastfeed (and the baby also knows it) so the temptation to give in is less.
Every child is different.I think no one can tell you exactly when they can/will start sleeping through the night. My daughter used to be awake; all of the night & every night with out blinking her eyes until she was 3. It is normal and this too shall pass. And go through the links,it may help you.
WHO recommends breastfeeding until kid turns 2. It is quite common for breastfeeding babies to wake up several times in the night for a feed. It is more of comfort sucking actually. Babies (who are breastfed) will start sleeping through the night when you wean them off. I weaned off night feedings for my DD when she was 22 months old. She started sleeping through the night then.
Sasi, go through this below thread: there are 3 threads on weaning. Hopefull one of them will help you:
