have you got your son evaluated. poojas and prayers are additionals. you must first do what has to be done as parents. get your son evaluated for hearing fitness and then proceed further to his 100% development ratio.

    Dear OP,
May I ask if you are a working mom or SAHM? What is the level of exposure and interaction of your son with other people (kids AND adults)? Interaction, whether at a daycare facility or with grandparents/caretaker plays a major role in linguistic development, provided all other parameters are confirmed to be normal.

In case you're a working couple, where do you keep him for the day? If it's at a professional daycare facility where he has other kids to interact with, then this is certainly unusual and you need to take him to the concerned specialist for evaluation. In case you have employed a full time desi unskilled/semi-skilled nanny, then it is not so unusual for kids to reach their developmental milestones a little later. But then too, at 3.5 years it definitely needs to be professionally checked why he's not speaking at all.
    Wish you Good Luck!

Would suggest to consult the doctor.....some kids do start talking late....if your your is active in other activity then it's not much to worry but yes you have to give time to your son.
Don't force him to speak rather try to play with some game where speaking is involved.
last but not the least you need to have lots of patience to deal with your kid as frustration will only make the situation worse....

My son was a late talker.not to press the panic button, but he has learning disablities, motor issues, on the borderline adhd.

he talked at 3 and 4 months i think. but today at 16 he is non-stop.

Children talk as they assimilate and want to . my daughter talked so fluently without the gibberish kiddishness babyt talk at 9 months surprising the family . had a tough time to accept my son's late talking because my daughter set the bar. can understand your concern but your son's doctor is the best judge.

some issues need more than prayer. and personally though i believe in the miracles of prayers, would suggest you take the opinion of your doctor too.

don't stress, or don't force him. he will definitely talk when he is ready. keep working on the homework that your therapist recommends.

and yes you can pray. will add you to my prayers.

you can play vishnu sahasranamam, lalitha sahasranamam and soundaryalahari at home, hope he listens. the syllables, and the pronounciations of the names/slokas are such that they have a way of stimulating the brain. infact a anecdote was shared by a family friend stating that a leading neurologist asked his relative to teach his daughter to say vishnusahasranamam for some brain sensory ailment. he says she was cured too.

there is nothing wrong in hoping and praying..prayers make miracles happen..
