Default Wetting at school

Dear Ilites,

My 3 yr old was potty trained from the last 6 months. She would tell me if she had to go to the toilet. since past 2 weeks she wets her undies in school and even at the babysitter. Frankly its her first time at school and the babysitter since before she was staying with my mom. Now she always informs me and my mom but this problem has started only after going school.
I have patiently tried explaining to her that she has to inform. when i spoke to the teacher she said that she never informs us and regularly after one hour we do take the children to the toilet but she does in her undies as soon as she comes back.
I have tried explaining patiently, telling her that i will give her ice cream, even shouting at her but she just does not say.
the babysitter informed me that to while she is at the her house, she will wear the diapers otherwise she wets in the house. i understand her predicament as she has to clean but dont u think that if starts wearing diapers again she will get used to it.

pls help me out. i m at my wits end now.

Hi
Do not worry sometimes it happens to some kids as most of the time they will be staying at home with mom's and when they start going to play school they will face completely new enviroment., kids become nervous and will not be knowing that they wet it.
Yes do use diapers for a few days until she gets use to the surroundings and slowly stop it when u come to know she has not wet the diapers. It is just a matter of time. When she does not wet her undies that day praise her my girl has grown up, she is a good girl etc, etc...........you can see the change in her. Within a month you will find the change in her.

Hi,
I have a daughter almost 3 years and now she is going to play school.I potty trained her well before she joined the school. But she also in the initial days of school she used to urinate in her pants. The teacher used to take her to the toilet in between but still she did it.Then i started telling her number of times how she has to ask the teacher if she has to go to the toilet. After a few days she started asking the teacher. And whenever my daughter did it rightly the teacher used to gift her with her favourite stickers. So in that way she developed the habbit. It is normal to have the problem in the initial days of school but slowly they will develop the habbit by repeatedly telling them number of times.Hope it helps.

May be she waited too long and couldnt hold it.If it is once in awhile shouldntbe any problem. My daughter she is dry all through the night but when she gets up in the early morning sometimes she wantingly does it on bed.Sometimes we have to really force them to take to the toilet. If it is really bothering may be its beter to clear the doubts with the doctor.Sometimes these small doubts make us impatient so beter to be releaved.

Hi arinu,

Try getting the training pants from huggies they are the pink packets for girls. They are available in spinneys, choithrams and even giant in bur dubai. Any change triggers a setback don't worry it will pass. These training pants have cute blue hearts that fade if wet. So its quite motivating for the kid that the hearts remain and they go to the toilet. My 3 yr old just got out of them finally only in march as she was starting regular school in April. We still have an occasional bet wet but she is fine now.
I think she may be scared about the potty in school just go and check how are they making the kids sit on the potty. If they have a child friendly seat then its fine - my daughter surprised me one day when she came from play school by balancing on the big one and said they taught her to sit in school.
I used to keep her baby potty just outside the toilet where she could see it and go herself. Then slowly we got her a seat that fitted the adult toilet now she just calls me to wash her.
Don't make a big issue with your baby but do praise her sky high when she does use the toilet. Ignore the wetting and say its an accident -its ok. They really do feel terrible when we shout and it happens more .
The training pants are like nappy panties that can be pulled down and pulled up too so do get them right away.

take care and don't worry
preethi
