| Hi, I'm new to this site and I don't know if I am asking this question in the right thread. My son is 25 months old and loves to play with stuffed toys and dolls.. He has names for each of them like julie the dog, lambert the lion etc. He makes them sleep on the sofa, takes them for a ride on his toy car and all. My mom in law says that he does that because he has got a "feminine streak" in him. Now i am getting freaked out wondering if he really has got a "feminine streak" in him. Off course he plays with his spider man, elmo, toy cars ,balls, guns and other "manly toys". I'd like to think that this kid has got a colorful imgination. Can someone please tell me if my son has got that "feminine streak" in him. Anju |

Understand his imagination. He names the dolls. And he plays with dogs and lions. My son loves to play with stuffed toys and utensils. Infact my daughter have given all her kitchen set toys to him to play and he plays cook at home. He makes coffee for us. He prepares lunch etc etc. And I keep telling mom and DH that one day he will become a fivestar chef. Dont worry about all these things. He will change while times goes on and on. You will really have to take long time to find out the dog and lion dolls once he starts going to school. Forget all those feminine streak stuff and encourage his imagination and creativity.

| Dear Sudhira, It is so common in kids to like particular things. I've heard from a neighbour, a kid was always behind pencils and used to write on the walls not only in thier house but wherever he sees the wall. Padija's advice holds good. Please don't distract him. Some of the interests in early ages vanish like anything, as the time goes by.
