| hi ils,can you tell me when should a toddler be introduced to a tooth brush?also what are the types of tooth pastes to be used?my son is 2 yr3m old and has a good set of teeth.regards,humera. |

| Hi, You can start the habit of brushing as soon as most of the teeth have come out. The only thing is that you have to ensure that the kid does not swallow the paste. If you think he will do that, you can start with the special kids' toothpaste - which do not contain flouride and hence is ok to swallow this. Slowly you can teach him to not swallow and the switch to regular paste. There are good soft bristle kids' brushes also available. The kids' paste will be available in big kids' store - pigeon is a good brand. Cheers, Sumathy |

| Hi Honey, If your daughter is fine with using the adult toothpastes, then it is absolutely okay to use it. Just a pea size amount of the toothpaste will do. Generally the adult pastes are a little more stronger in flavor and kids don't like it. Crest for kids, Aquafresh kids Colgate kids.... these are a few popular brands available for kids. Find them along with the regular toothpaste in the stores. Vandhana |

| Hi, I don't think it's to do with the toothpaste. Because I used/still using kids toothpaste that too with her favourite in it like Dora tooth paste, diego toothpaste, etc. but still toothbrushing is a TASK for us. we have to do little tricks or threaten her to be DONE. but anyways we can use kids toothpaste to make them happy that they have their own paste. try with some play like singing for her, making ooo aaa sounds, etc. some days it just have to be threatening even. First we were using adult tooth paste which we were using to her but some of us dentist friends asked us to use kids tooth paste like Kidodent for her so if she eats paste then also there is no problem. It is very nice strawberry flavored childerns will like it.
