Slowly you can teach him to not swallow and the switch to regular paste. There are good soft bristle kids' brushes also available. The kids' paste will be available in big kids' store - pigeon is a good brand.

Hi!,
Brushing should be started as soon as ur child has his first tooth. After brushing you can clean the mouth of the baby with a soft cotton napkin, as the child would not know how to spit it out and there are always chances of swallowing the paste..Any childrens tooth paste with out flouride would be fine.

Hi Krithin,

Try to get the Training paste so that you don't have to worry even when she eats up a little. If you don't get it, just try with kids tooth paste applying very little on brush. My kid is 3 now and he still enjoys eating it.
When you emphasize on brushing 2 times a day, slowly they get used to that habit.
I give dinner, fruits and milk and make him brush. I put him on bed at 9 and he would play for another 1.5 hours some days and then demand more milk and will cry when I say brush!!!

Its all part of the game. Make it playful. Giggle, make faces, play with her, she will brush without fussing.

Happy Parenting!!!
