Varalotti, Good! This episode was compelling. The sudden turn in characterisation- portraying Chander as a crude guy with a decent heart is a master writer stroke. Also, Raghavan succumbing to the wily charms of Bollywood and Neha, while losing sight of what is valuable is well sketched. I hope he returns to safe harbours. I don't believe in lucky bonis or long FB. But I guess the fall in readership is merely coincidental. With summer, many of us are travelling and for many life is catching up. So rest assured, that lack of FB is not correlated to your standard of writing, you probably have more silent, ardent readers now. Vidya Last edited by Vidya24; 5th August 2006 at 03:46 AM.

| Hello Sridhar, I'm fed up of feeling sad for vidya. I think its time she comes out of her cocoon & plans her life ahead without Raghavan. Also, makes me wonder if success in career is proportional to failure in personal life of an individual. Chandar seems a better individual compared to our hero. so, wonder who is paying the price and for what?????? Regards,

My dear sridhar, It is very sad to read about Vidya that " She begged Chandar to help her reclaim her husband " - does she really want back such a husband ? Now, what respect can she have for him ? Worse is "Raghavan continued to argue that it won’t alter any thing for Vidya and she can continue to live in the same house and enjoy the same luxuries as she was used to so far." It was not Raghavan, Vidya's husband, but Ramkumar, Neha's lover who must have uttered these words ! I repeat Meena's words" who is paying the price, for what? " Love & regards, Chithra. Try however I might, I cannot write short F B s, Sridhar ! - they tend to become more long & less crisp !

Raghavan vidya divorce???? oops! I was eagerly waiting for this episode till yesterday night...but finally i felt too sleepy... now i open the screen and soo many ppl have already read it and replied also! ITs good that Raghavan will agree to his transfer his assets to Vidya, the least he can do is that... Seems like a sad tale... hope Vidya and Raghavan get together... Purnima

Dear varlotti, The episode is catchy. Iam guessing Neha is listening at the other end and will drop off Raghavan the moment she hears that he is transferring all property. And if Vidya chucks him out also?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Regards, Meenu

Vidya, thanks for the words of praise. The first lesson we learn in life is that no one is permanently good or permanently bad. While Chandar has turned for better Raghavan has taken a turn downhill. That's life. While I respect your hopes for Raghavan, please don't forget that this story started with its own climax. And a double thanks for attributing fall in readership to reasons other than the quality of my writing. Thats really soothing to a writer's mind. regards, Varalotti

Hello Meena, I am touched by what you feel for Vidya, my heroine. But I am also put off by the words, "fed up feeling sad". When you are fed up feeling sad, then you are no longer feeling sad. It is this kind of feeling that removes sympathy from our hearts. About the other theory you have propounded that success in career is proportional to the failure in personal life, well, we have a lot of empirical evidence to vindicate your theory. Only if we can stop for a while to think what's success then this theory will not hold good. But that may take aeons for the human race to understand that. Who's paying the price for what? That question will linger in your mind long after you finish reading the serial. Thanks for being there and thanks for your FB. regards, sridhar

Dear Chitra, "Does she really want back such a husband?" A very pertinent question. If only Vidya had stopped to think on these lines her life would have been different. I'll go one step down. Do I really want to be an actor? If Raghavan had raised this question then his life would have been happy and Vidya's happier. The problem is that we, who watch these characters sitting comfortably in the sidelines can ask all the right questions. But the characters themselves who are in the midst of life and all its happenings do not normally have the luxury of stopping on the tracks and asking the right questions. Raghavan and Ramkumar are two different names for the same person. But considering the change in the circumstances they have now become two different persons, poles apart in their character and way of thinking. As I said to Meena, Who's paying price for what, is the question that would (andi should) always be in the minds of readers long after the serial is over. And if this question pops up at the right time and we listen to it, we can avert many tragedies in our lives. That's the message I want to convey. For me, every FB is precious, long or short. Thanks for the prompt FB. regards, sridhar

Dear Purnima, thanks for reminding me to post the next episode. I was so immersed in my work that I almost forgot about the serial. You came on line to remind me about that. This serial does not just seem like a sad tale; but is a sad tale. Like the lives of many people who end up paying a heavy price for what they want in life. Career advance bought at the price of family life, Wealth bought at the price of honesty and fame bought with deceit - the list is endless. Meena righly questioned, "Who pays price for what?" We can make a sticker of this question and paste in the dressing room mirror. This question can avert many tragedies in life. Whether Raghavan will transfer his assets to Vidya? Well, let's us wait and see - in the final episode, which I promise, will post on 11th August, God willing. regards, sridhar
