Default Chennai practice of Kari Virundu(Tamil)/Bigara Oota(Kannada)/Sambandi bojanam(telugu)

Hi to all from TN,

I would like to know about a ritual / occasion of 'Non-Veg lunch hosted' that's said to be there after marriage for the family of the bride / groom who ever did the wedding by the other side.

Kari Virundu (Tamil)
Bigara Oota (kannada)
Sambandi Bojanam (Telugu)

How is this practice in Chennai / Cuddalore particularly in Chettiars and what exactly they do.

I would like to know if any of you (bascially Non_vegetarians) do not have this practice also.

This is basically inviting the family and relatives of who actually hosted the wedding. If the groom's family did the wedding then the bride's family does the Kari Varundu and invite groom's family and relatives for lunch.

Thanks,
Maggie
