Default Chiroti

Ingredients:
Maida 20 gm
Rice flour 30 gm
Dalda/margarine 50 gm
Powdered sugar 100 gm
Salt to taste
Cardamom 1
Oil for frying

Method:
Seive flour with ssalt.Rub in half the fat (25 gm)Make dough as for puris (stiff) and keep aside.
Cream rice flour and remaining fat.
Divide the dough into two and roll into thin chappathis.
Smear the creamed fat and rice flour on the chappathis and cover with another chappathi on top.Apply again the creamed fat and rice flour on top of second chappathis and roll into cylinder shape.
Cut into pieces cross wise.Roll slightly the cut pieces and deep fry in hot oil.
Remove golden brown and sprinkle with powdered sugar and cardamom while it is hot.

wow...this is so timely. Just this morning my husband was teasing me when I asked hime what to cook by saying "chiroti" - he will get his wish this week! Thanks.
