Default :)

the first milk we get frm cows or buffalos milk is used for making junnu
it can be used for 3-4 days milk
for if u can get such milk then u need to dilute it wht normal milk
like 1 part of junnu milk wht 3 parts of any milk add sufficient amt of sugar / jaggery
jaggery one is tastier but i like sugar wali
u add powder of elaichi and pepper to it
pour the whole mixture into a small vessel and steam it in ur pressure cooker for few min
tasty junnu is ready to eat
u can refrigrate it and eat
if u have sufficient amt of junnu milk take boxes of big carriage which u cud place one over another in one u put sugar mixed in other jaggery mixed and taste both the types
gud luck

Default Admirable!

So Tejudatla...You did manage to get your junnu recipe and tried and have even shared the recipe with us IL'ites! Good for you. When I first read about your query for Junnu here, I too remembered very vaguely about eating it as a child. I am now amazed that it is possible to make something similar here using the ingredients that are available. This is called perseverance!

EVen I am not pregnant I still have cravings for it. Finally I have no carvings for Junnu, I simply made it in easiest way within an hour n tried it . It was simply superb with the same taste n same color....... Thanks for such a sweet site

Default China grass

HI Teja,

So U prepared your junnu....Congrats for that and finally u accomplished your goal. For me,in my childhood I have lot of good memories with Junnu. We used to have so many buffalos and making junnu is very natural in my home. My mother is very expert in it.

I also tried junnu with China grass......something like grass type, last time my mother-in-law sent me. It came out very well,u just have to soak this china grass in milk then add jagary or sugar and pepper then steam it.Just like normal junnu making process.

Regards
Srilak.
