Eliminating post count for chit-chat threads

Good & timely thought Krithi.I think that will help to keep the site more safe with new members having not that easy access to the IL meet-up photos.

I Agree with this request. I would also request malathy to disable the RP option on those threads. There are a lot of deserving contributors whose RP will be belittled by these folks giving RP to one another.

Oops, I wanted to rate this thread as excellent but my browser has been giving me issues since morning. It got the wrong rating, can the mod please change my rating? I tried to do it again but it does not allow me to change the rating.

I support this too! I also support disabling reputation points in those threads.

Personally, the post count does not worry me at all. There could be several previleges as you move up the ladder from New to Junior to Senior etc etc which I am not completely aware of and honestly does not worry me either. I am here because I love being here on IL and going through different forums.

I like the idea of not including the posts on general chit-chat threads. For instance, in my case, more than 90% of the count I have at the moment is possibly because of the posts on one particular thread (a chit-chat, everyday news sharing place with my friends). If you look at all the posts under my id, you will very well know which thread that one is. Wondering if this idea has come up because of the same thread or not .......

Cutepavi's idea of having a Forum dedicated to all the chit chat threads is fantastic. We can even use the existing COMMUNITY CHIT-CHAT SUB-FORUM I think.

The issue was taken up with the Moderator as you would know and all sorted. I still think disabling RPs on those threads is also a good idea.

PS: Also just thinking over, for those who are very particular about the post counts, it could also encourage people to explore other forums/threads, which they have not been doing till then......mmmm...thinking loud here

K2S - I used to participate in three such threads in three different languages. I started one too. So mine would go down as well, but I guess we need to look at quality - Hope you didn't get offended.

I got the general idea from there , but I think it is more for the sake of new members who don't know what RPs mean and give it out in these chit chat threads. I would rather that it goes to good contributions on other threads.
