| | confusion about my number of posts
Hi,
I am a new member joined recently in May 09, I like IndusLadies very much. It is like a web family where we support each other, the site is very inspirational, educative for personal growth too. no need to go to any couselers or psychriatist, whenever support is needed.. there you go Indusladies is ready 24hrs a day 7 days a week.
I have a small confusion regarding my number of posts whenever I see the number of posts by me is shown as 14 no matter how many posts I posted. something wrong?
Last but not least. I appreciate all moderators who are working hard for other ILs. I am thankful to you.
regards,
Sujatha.

Hello Sujatha
In case you post in wishes or games or forwarded messages section your posts will not be counted, only those posted in other forums will be counted.
Go through this link Why there is a difference in post count? you will understand.

Hi Sujatha
There are few sections in IL, eventhough you open topic or reply there it wont count in your cumulative post count.

Dear Indus Ladies
I have a suggestion to make, the member who posts more than 50 would be eligible for private message, access to other links and can post other links.
I think, the management must reconsider about the number of posts because some one who just want to increase the number of posts can always just say thanks, praise each and every post in every thread.
The quality of the posts are important and not the quantity of posts.
How does that matter, if some one shares an educative and interesting links, only after placing 50 msgs in the Indus Ladies Club does the links will dramatically change the contents or I really dont understand behind this logic. In the process, the new members might loose track of the subject and interesting links to get posted.
The Management must reconsider, the new members to allow the links to post.
Thanks for reading.
With regards
Gubbi

Hello Gubbi,
Thanks for your suggestion. We welcome such valid feedback from ILites which help the community to grow.
Basically the system of not allowing New ILites (less than 50+ posts) to post external link is to protect the forum from spammers. These spammers they register, post spam posts with external links and they move away making the discussion with less information. Hence this system of not allowing New ILites to post external links were introduced.
Whereas a genuine ILite who has valid and informative links will have patience to get to know the community, forums and then share the external links.
Thanks for the understanding.

Hi Laxmi
Thanks for your concern.
Infact, I had posted some useful links in the other thread and it was deleted mercilessly. The Moderator could have used his/her discretion to edit whether it is a spam or an useful link. Sometimes, the enthusiasm of the new member will diminish if he/she has to sit and count for the 50 posts to complete.
For instance, I for one may not be participating on a regular basis - cheering or recommending a blog or thanking each and every post. May be for persons like me it will not be a best scenario to wait for so long.
Thanks for your quick reply.
With regards

Gubbi,
There are two separate things.
1. A member can use the private message system only after completing 50 posts. This is to keep male solicitors away from our site. I don't think your post concerns this. So, we can keep that aside.
2. When a member who has less than 50 posts adds a link, it is not immediately viewable by all members. It goes into a moderation queue. From the moderation queue, our moderators take the decision to allow the link or delete it. There is no rule that you need to make 50 posts to add a link. The only requirement is that when you add a link, you or someone known to you can't directly or indirectly benefit from it.
Hope that helps. Thank you.
