Why not an index of the posts in a thread for easier & selective navigation? I'm not sure of the technical implementation or programming interface of software used for this site but would it not be nice to have two additional links beside the title of the thread [Index, Stats] to pivot the tabular data. Stats is a nice-to-have feature which lists the count of posts made by a participating poster but index is revolutionizing feature for any short or long thread. Index is the preview of the content (first line in the post) with poster and timestamp. Just a feedback for handy navigation. Er, as they say a colorful picture says a million words (attached). I just chanced on this thread today to use as an example. It may be worth for a public forum where the participation and traffic is high to provide summary and taxonomical pivot (user, date etc) View attachment 216069
Hi @Aria, Sorry for replying late. Thank you for your suggestions and appreciate that you took out time to explain it visually Thread statistics and index will definitely be useful. We will look into the possibilities for implementing the features. And let's also watch out for feedback and thoughts from other members too.
@aria, @il_admin, I love this idea! It will definitely save a lot of time for people wanting to sift through threads looking for one poster or interesting responses. L
Oh oh oh oh ,there are no other members. 2 heads are too much for constructive thinking, you see it is very difficult to think (/think beyond) in a shellfire and say hmm, may be instead of arsenal we need ikebana arrangement.
Good idea. Some sites have top posters, top thread starters - weekly/monthly... If we could classify the trolls under a category - it will be fun too.
I think trolls are those cute, scurrying, burrowing shrews who sway the reeds creating a picturesque vignette with light movements underneath. We may want to protect this undergrowth and not expose to harsh light & unsettling bluster. ;-) Personally I love trolls. The fat and wily ones are my favourites and I hate those spindly slackers who cannot come up with conniving ingenuity in their multinomial tales.
Thank you for the ideas @GoogleGlass. Classifying the trolls will invite too much fun for IL to handle but we sure will consider the other options.
