Introduction of Draft Mode

Dear Malathy,

I have observed losing connection with IL server quite often, leading to loss of posts being typed.
The suggestion of typing in word format and copying is fine when we have a long post. For a short "four liners' too, we cannot keep switching from "MS Word" to "IL". I am sure many more members may also be facing this problem. Hence, I would like to suggest having a "Save Draft" option in the reply format after every 30 seconds. This way we will not lose our valuable thoughts.

Thank you for your suggestion about 'Save Draft' option. Right now, our forum software does not have this feature. We will have this in our wish list to take it up during our next set of site enhancements.

BTW, you should not be experiencing connectivity issues with the site too often from the server/site perspective. If you are not experiencing similar issues with other site, do let us know.

It is only with IL. It takes atleast 30 seconds for a post to be posted which is much of my time. Also there is frequent cut off from the server, else i would not have bothered you. Thanks for taking my suggestion in to consideration.

With the upgrade to a more powerful server and our consistent technical tweaking of our site, I am sure there should not be much lost connectivity from IL.

May I ask you to try accessing IL from a different place. That way we can make sure you have no interent connectivity (slow connection,etc.) issues in your regular place (home / office) wherever you access IL.

I access IL from home and office and have the same problem at both places. I use Firefox 2.0.0.12 as the firewall after the initial hitch of logging in IL. From the time I have switched on to Firefox I am getting this problem. Is it because of the firewall? I have a laptop and I carry it to my office too.

We too use both Internet explorer and Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.12 browsers here to access IL. There are no issues on using Firefox.

Regarding Firewall, do you mean you have a firewall when you access through your office network? If they have not restricted external site accesses in the firewall, it should not be a problem. Also, firewall either completely blocks access or allows access to a site. It cannot slow down the access or make connection to loose, in my understanding. You may want to check with the tech guys at your office.

Since we do not hear this connectivity issue from many members or experience it ourself, we are not able to do more here.
