Nomination of Posts

Dear Friends,

While being a newcomer in the site, I have two posts nominated and I am happy.

I have few suggestions for the rules of nominations:

Primarily, viewers read a post and then nominate.

Now once the post is nominated it should appear in a different font colour on the scroll. Now, everyone does not catch up all the posts, but such good posts can diplayed with a different font colour, so that it catches the attention of the viewers.

Once the nominated post is displayed in a different colour, there can be ratings for it.

In fact, post should not close without a viewer punching his ratings.

Judges views plus ratings of the viewers would give it a new life.

Thas my thought....

i feel posts will have to have a gud effect on its readers..not necessarily attracting..there shud be essence in wat u want to convey....bigg bigg write ups with no matter to convey but beautiful looking font and decorated with lil bit meaningful figues to desvcribe ur write ups is wht makes a post to be nominated...?...i feel the posts shud either convey to us about general catch ups of life or describe the better attitude of the human...

as you say the nominated post should appear in a different font colour on the scroll. You mean to say that the title in the forum should be displayed differently.Is it right???If i am right then i would say that is not needed.Because there is a separate thread for Nomination index categorised monthy.I think that will do.Also lotus007 saying ""there should be new group mentioned under the head "Posts - Nominated" '".Why new group when there is already a thread on "Index of nominated posts".Moreover rightly said by mithili only the content in the posts is what made the readers choose finest posts rather than the decorated fonts and attractive writings.Upto now the posts catched up the viewers which in turn lead to number of responses.your message will be convinsing when there are no readers for nominated posts.But it is not so.This is my opinion.

Thank you for your suggestions.

Here are our 2 cents about nominations getting enough focus...

We have an exclusive thread every month ONLY for the nominations. The intent of a separate thread started every month is for members to go through the nominations and second the nominations, if they like it.

As Bhargavi pointed out rightly, members seem to notice the nominations and that is obvious from the responses received in the respective nominated thread.

Also, we maintain an index of the nominations so that the good posts are not missed out ever by any existing member or new members coming to the site. Rating of threads is also available as a feature with all threads not only the nominated ones.

Hence, coloring the nominations or having a separate group might only be a duplication of effort to what we are already doing.
