Mirage of Love

Part 1

Even today she remembers the day and the way he proposed her. They both met each other for the first time in the bus stop while waiting for the bus to the interview center. When they alighted the bus there were only two seats available so they occupied them and started checking their papers one last time. When the bus conductor came near them asking for tickets they were surprised to know that they were going to the same place. After taking tickets they started talking about the interview tips and tricks. It was Maya’s first interview, so she was a bit tensed about the whole process. Prakash understood her situation and made her feel relaxed by imitating his past experiences and boosted her confidence levels by providing her few tips about do’s and don’ts.

By the time they reached the company they both became good friends. They understood that their thought process was same. There were so many people outside the gate and were waiting to be called inside. After waiting for sometime a person wearing an identity card in his neck came near the watchman and spoke to him and left.

The watchman then opened the door and told everyone to go straight to the notice board which was placed near the stairs and check the room number they are allotted and instructions mentioned. Everyone rushed to the place as if diamonds are being distributed and if they reach late they won’t get any. Yes, this job was more valuable than any diamond for many. The vacancies are few and eligible candidates are multiple times the number of vacancies. When they went inside, there were four people behind four tables. Each one was cross checking the certificates. After checking the certificates all the candidates who came to attend the interview were divided into four groups and were allotted a mini project to work on. Those who would complete it first without any errors would be selected to the next level. Though they felt strange about the method of selection no one dared to utter a word. Prakash and Maya were in the same team. As they progressed in the project, they felt confident that they would win this test without any problem. During lunch break they all went to the cafeteria and discussed about the project all the while.

After returning back they quickly made the corrections and checked it twice for errors. After making sure that there are no errors, they submitted it to the in charge person allotted to their team. They were the first to submit the project. After checking it, he informed them that they have successfully completed the first round. They heaved a sigh of relief .

Part 2

After the completion of work assigned as first stage in recruitment process, all four groups went into the common hall and relaxed by sharing their experience to one another. Later they were all informed by their prospective leaders that they would be informed about the results by phone or mail within one week. Though they were literally biting their nails in anxiety, they all put up a courageous smile and left the room. When they reached outside the building, all her group mates decided to celebrate the first success in McDonald's.

They all took bus to the nearest McDonald's stop. Oh boy! Were they glad they completed their task before other teams did in the first round? You betcha!!! They ordered favorite pizzas and burgers along with coke and started chit chatting with a relaxed mind. When one of their group members phone rang they saw the time for the first time after arriving at the McDonald's and were shocked to see that they have spent more than two hours.

Phew!!!! How quickly the time flies by when we are happy and relieved! They bid bye to each other and left to their respective homes by transport of their choice.

Both Maya and Prakash took the same bus and kept talking till their stop arrived. They exchanged their phone numbers after alighting the bus at the same bus stop they met each other that morning. As soon as Maya reached home she saw that the door was kept ajar. She could hear so many voices coming from her house. As she entered the hall she could see her father, mother, younger sister, uncle and aunt waiting for her while discussing about her future.

The moment her mother laid eyes on her, she came to her swiftly and with an anxious look on her face asked about the result. After Maya explained everything that has happened at the company they all congratulated her and wished her good luck. Later in the evening her uncle and aunt left for their house giving her their best wishes.
