The dolls

Dear friends as some of you may know I have written a story called ghosts of the royal family .. This one will be the second a psychological thriller .. I read an article in a paper and I thought it was interesting so I penned down a story based on it.. So the story is half true and half imaginary .

Antonio Malevich ( changed name ) was a man in 40 s dressed in a black suit travelling to California for a seminar .. Antonio Malevich is a renowned Russian historian according to his neighbours he was a genius who spoke 13 languages but according to his female colleagues he was dull and boring ..

Would you like to have some red wine sir Antonio was disturbed by the voice of the stewardess no thank you said Antonio and continued to read the book on historic places in Petra .. he was in his own world and did not want to be be disturbed by others .. He was unlike the other passengers travelling in the business class .

the journey lasted for 18 hours and finally he arrived at the airport .. He was the first person to reach the exit as he did not have any check in baggage the only thing he carried was a brown suit case which containef his laptop , dresses and books .. A man was holding his name board in the arrivals department .

he went near the man who was in doubt whether he was the person who was looking for .. He has seen many learned persons in his life but they always looked brilliant and dressed in a classy manner but this guy was dressed very badly and he looked eccentric ..iam the man you are looking for Iam Antonio he said to the guy ..

sir welcome to california my name is David he smiled trying to be friendly to avoid an awkward situation . Antonio neither greeted nor smiled at him . David said sir please wait here I ll get the car ..

in another half an hour they reached the radisson hotel .. Historians from all over the world was invited for the seminar that was going to take place the next day ..

antonio took a quick shower and changed to his comfortable Pajamas and started writing the important points for the lecture which he was about to deliver the next day ..

he ordered his food in the room itself and continued to read the books until he was tired and sleepy .

the next morning he woke up early and dressed in a brown suit .. David escorted him to the north California state university auditorium ..

historian from all over the world greeted each other and exchanged some pleasantries . Antonio slowly went and sat in the seat ..

may i sit next to you sir the voice was very sweet the lady introduced herself as Clara she was a budding historian who was in the final stages of her thesis .

you may please if you want to said Antonio coldly . She did not Mind the way he spoke she Infact something very attractive of him she loved his eccentricity ..

the seminar was about how to preserve the historic places in the world .. Antonio s name was called upon to give the lecture .. This man was an excellent speaker and there was a pin drop silence in the auditorium until he finished .. There was standing ovation once he finished his lecture ..

When the seminar was over Antonio walked straight out of the auditorium . Sir that was very interesting I like to invite you for the dinner .. We ll meet in pearl roof top restaurant by 7 and don't forget your dinner jacket smiled Clara .. Antonio did not reply back or smile at her .. Clara knew in her mind that he will surely meet her at dinner

the dolls chapter 2

Antonio was an an excellent student at school.. He always stood first rank in the class and won scholarship for studies for his academic excellence . His parents were poor illiterate farmers who couldn't afford to pay for his education ..
Antonio 's parents hated to send him to school as they wanted to help them in the fields ..

His father was mostly drunk and he would kick and beat Antonio until the poor boy fainted .. Poor Antonio did not protest against his father 's beating as he was used to it ..
He ate what was given to him and rushed to the school ..going to school was the only key to escape from his monstrous dad and mom . One day when his father was sitting in the kitchen talking to his wife in a good mood the poor Antonio slowly went to his father and asked for money to buy a atlas which was required for his geography class at school .. His father and mother beat him very badly and locked him in the dark room ..

the dark room was meant as the punishment room and whenever Antonio did something wrong ( according to his patents ) he would end up in the dark room ..he would shiver and gasp for breath when he was in the dark room ..

He will be released from the dark room only the very next day .. What frightened Antonio most was that he could clearly see the grave yard from the only window of the darkroom .. The sight of the grave yard in darkness brought chills to his body ....he sobbed and sobbed throughout the night and dosed off when he was totally exhausted .. Morning he woke up from the bright light that entered the room when his father opened the door in the morning ..

Get up bastard get ready to school shouted his father in an angry tone .. Antonio took a quick shower and dressed up in his school uniform ..

he had only two pairs of dresses which he carefully washed and ironed ..

He quickly ate a stale piece of bread given by his mother and rushed to school .. He longed for his mother 's affection but he did not win her affection till the end ..

the only happiness in his life was Rose .. ..rose was the only daughter of their rich neighbour ..

Rose was his same age group and studied in the same class with him .. No boys in the class even cared to speak with him . Rose took pity on him and was his only friend .. Rose was the only person who truly cared for him

she was eagerly waiting for Antonio in the classroom ..

antonio .. Antonio what happened last night .. I could hear the whipping noise of your father last night ..

my father .. My father beat me again and locked him in the dark room. What for ?

I asked for money for buying atlas ..

Oh antonio .. Why did you ask for money from your father when iam here .. Don't hesitate to ask me for any Help here after .

She broke into tears seeing his swollen face .. She threw her arms around his shoulder to comfort him .. This was the affection Antonio longed for ..

Will you be with me for ever asked Antonio

yes she said and promised on his hands ..

The dolls chapter 3

antonio sat on the Bed looking at his upcoming week 's schedule in his laptop . He had Dozens of lectures and seminars to attend

He suddenly saw his watch and the time was 6 o clock .. He suddenly remembered Clara

meet me At the pearl top restaurant at 7 ... There was something impeccable about Clara

.. Her dark brown Irish eyes her flawless complexion and blonde hair made her look very beautiful .. But What was appealing Antonio the most was her pleasing personality and her easy going attitude ..

he never spoke to his female colleagues apart from his work . He was surrounded by beautiful women but he found neither of them as attractive as Clara ..

he checked his clock again and again he badly wanted to meet Clara once again but he did not want to get committed to a woman and also he hated sex and even uttering that word made him feel disgusted . Most women want money and sex and Clara will definetly not be an exception he thought in his mind and dismissed the idea of meeting her ..

suddenly the room bell Rang ..

yes come in the door is open ..

a man came in with a bouquet of lavender flowers and a new dinner jacket from Hugo boss ..

who sent this he asked the man .. Sorry sir i don't know about the details of the sender but I was instructed to deliver it you personally replied the man ..

he gave the man a ten dollar note and locked the room after he left ..

.. He smelt the lavender flowers and suddenly he noticed a letter inside the bouquet the sender has left him ..

He read the words written it

iam waiting for you ,

.. He read the words again and again with a passion filled in his lips .. He checked his watch and The time was already 6.45 ... He quickly took a quick shower wore a formal blue shirt and pant and the new dinner jacket Clara had presented him ..

for the first time he looked himself in the mirror ..

he called the reception desk to arrange for a cab .

the cab arrived in five minutes

. Where do you want to go sir asked the cab driver .

take me to the pearl top restaurant and please stop by Tiffany and co on the way he said to the driver ..

he went inside Tiffany and co and looked for something exclusive to buy for Clara
