LOVE BLOSSOM - Episode 2

EPISODE 2​

It was a beautiful day. It was a Wednesday. Kayal loved the day very much. Infact she did all the things on Wednesday only. She was very happy. Her mom’s dream was to come true. Kayal was elected for the post of ASPL. And she was one among 4 people. There was an election at school and finally Kayal won the post of an ASPL. And today would be the day when it would announced formally.

Her mom always told her that she wanted to see her as a ASPL(Asst. School People Leader). This ASPL post is given to a student who was in 9th Std. An ASPL will be assisting the SPL (School people leader) who would be in 11th Grade. These posts were given to the students to understand the other students well. Any kind of issues were addressed to those two. And they in turn reported to their school head. Infact there would be an election which would be conducted in order to select the students.

As per Susila’s wish, our Kayal who was in her 9th Grade was selected in the post and she had kept it secret to her mom and she wanted to reveal that after she returned back from school. The day was as beautiful as imagined. The day was too good and as per her expections she was given the medal and she was also selected as the ASPL. In fact, Kayal was the class topper. She was the class leader and she was considered the best in her academic record too.

Kayal rushed back home to share this happy news to her mom. On the way she stopped in front of a flower shop. She got a rose for her mom and she rode back home in her lady bird cycle. She didn’t wait to come with her friends today. It was already 4pm. Kayal reached home and parked her cycle. She picked up her bag and carried the rose to her home.

To her surprise all she could see was a big crowd in front of her home and her mom was not there. Initially she was not able to understand what kind of situation it was, but later she did understand that her mom was admitted in the hospital and the people around her home were discussing about her mom and father.

For few minutes she didn’t understand what was going on.. what did they speak? Was that true? Was her father that way? She never understood.. but. All she came to know was that her mom was down with fever and she was admitted in the hospital.

The agony and grief filled her throat. She cried and ensured that her sorrows were not shared or felt by other people. But she failed. One of her neighbor mentioned in which hospital her mom was taken to and what had happened to her. Kayal left her bags inside the home and she rushed in her cycle to the hospital.

She saw her mom in the ICU ward. She was surrounded by wires. Doctors and the nurses were discussing so many things. She had no clue of that. But something told her that something was not good. She tried calling her father to his office and they said he was on leave. Her father had taken a leave from office and he hadn’t come there at all. But she remembered that her mom had packed food and sent her father to office today morning before she could leave to school.. so where did her father go?

Before she could realize the mixed feeling there was a huge sound, the doctors were rushing and all of ran to her mothers rescue. She was scared. She then remembered her school friend Mithra and called her. She cried to her mom. And in few mins they were there.

But none of them were allowed to speak to the doctors or to see the patient there. There was restlessness that prevailed near her mom’s ICU room. Soon the doctor came out of the room and she asked “who is that lady’s daughter? She wanted to see her….”. Saying that she waited for Kayal to come forward.. then she said “ Are you the one..? ok.. go and talk to your mom for the last time.. We are sorry.. we did our best. Just listen to what your mom has to say and promise her to what she asks.. and give her a peaceful..”, before she completed the sentence she choaked.

Kayal was in tears now.. she knew for the fact that it was that serious and her mom.. she is to leave her soon. She didn’t shed a tear. She didn’t cry. She was broken down with shock and she stood there like a log. The doctors and Mithra’s parents pushed her inside to see her mom.

Kayal went inside the room and she didn’t know what happened.. in a few mins .. may be in a minute or two she fainted. She didn’t realize what happened but the scream of the nurse and Mithra’s mom Latha.. all knew that Susila was no more and she spoke a few words to Kayal before she closed her eyes.

But she remembered the last few words her mother said, “Promise me one thing… What ever your father does, did or done.. never let your father down in any point of time. Please take care of your father. He loves you more. And remember that he is my husband before he was your father. Please never let him down or leave him. Take care of him,..Also promise me that at any point of time you will fight your life and live it… and that you will never give up…” she repeated the words and she closed her eyes.

Kayal saw what is life and death as she started to grow up. Slowly one by one she lost all her grandparents. And they couldn’t even diagnose the disease that her mother had when she was in her teens. She even lost her mother.

Kayal, saw a life of loneliness for the first time. She didn’t have a mother. She was not sure what to do. At the age of thirteen Kayal lost her mom. Not only had that she started to understand what is life……….

Mithra had informed Kayal that she had overheard that her mom had an heart attack and didn’t die of fever. Before she fell unconscious she had a major fight with Chidambaram. The fight was about the news that be broke out stating that he wanted to separate from Susila and wanted to live with some one else. He also has another kid and wanted to go and live in that family. After the fight he had even slapped Susila and left the house. And that’s when she was taken to the hospital and the rest of the things happened…….

Kayal was already broken because of her mom’s demise and now its her fathers story….. She cried out loudly……. She screamed as the thunder struck………………and her screams were unheard in the down pour……………….
