Please give suggestions as to which kind of containers I can use for safely reheating food in microwave? I m trying to cut down on plastic and want to know which kind of containers are user friendly for daily use & also do not pose side effects in health?
I use microwave for heating food and not for cooking.

tupperware containers are best. when using plastic containers see the number given at the back. the lessre the number the better the container. tupperware has number 1.
5 or 6 is really bad.
glass like pyrex is good but you use only for reheating so appropriate plastic is ok.

I use Pyrex glass or Corelle dishes for reheating. I stopped using plastic of any kind in the microwave.

@generic no plastic for reheating especially our indian style food leeches on to the plastic..

i use glass bowls that are good for heating/serving/baking too. and also ceramic bowls with lids.

ensure you cover and reheat..most of with a slight gap.

and always give it a standing time or rest it for some time before you serve..

Glass bowls or you can get Correlle. Little light to handle. It is also hardened glass. and also looks trendy. Never use plastics.. even if it is tupperware

Thanks all..I have seen many baking bowls made of borosil glass available in stores..Glass bowls are somehow not so easy to handle..But I was not aware of Correlle being used for microwaving, so would like to try..When I searched on google, I found images and online offers of crockery and dinner sets..Can I purchase some simple Corelle crockery itself and use it for reheating or should I specifically ask for a microwave safe bowl only?

All the Corelle we get here is suitable for the microwave. It should say so on the item itself.
