Recently some part of the rack is facing falling of wood powder because of termites. How to solve this? When I asked the feedback about pest control, everyone suggested pest control measures are not long term solution. Some suggested spraying kerosene. But would like to know whether this is effective? Some suggested woodcare shell solution to be painted. Which is effective?

    Hi,

I would suggest pest control, You can tell the problem to pest control people and they'll know how many sitting are needed and they will guide you that way.

    thanks

    Hi Nithya,

The fallen wood powder is actually termite poop....they kick out their poop in a way to keep their living space clean. Right above this fallen poop you will notice small holes in the wood from where they drop poop.

Okay, coming on to the control issue, you have to examine all the furniture and doors (wooden stuff) of your house. if you see similar holes and poop (wood powder as you thought), that means all of that contains termites. So, spraying in one area will not help as it will come back from other furniture or door or cabinets.

Try replacing what ever is infested at the same time for complete eradication and then get pest control people to spray otherwise termites will keep moving from one furniture to another.

if you can not replace, then try to put all the furniture out in hot sun for 2-3 days and get the house treated from pest control people.

HOpe this will help. Good luck :)
