    Hi All,

If you cut vegetables your hands get strained. To avoid that apply some coconut oil in your hands before cutting vegetables.

If you soak the onions before u peel, the skin come out easily and it wont cause water from your eyes.

Before cutting ladies fingur wash it and wipe it.

    Hi friends,
We have to soak, wash and scrub the vegetables before scraping. But the soaking and washing time should not be too much to avoid much nutrient loss. But by soaking and scrubbing we can to some extent remove the pesticides present on the surface of the vegetables.

While peeling the skin of the vegetables care should be taken to remove only a thin layer of skin to maintain the level of the nutrient contents.

Cut vegetables in big cubes rather than small to conserve the nutrient values while cooking.

While preparing vegetable salads cut the vegetables just before serving to avoid nutrient loss.

In case of grenn leafy vegetables first de-weed them then wash many times in clean water to remove the mud completely.

    Cheers,
    lakshmi.

    Hey nice tips thank you...

my My 2cents .....When we get curry leaves remove the leaves from teh stems and put them in a plastic box or wrap them in a cover ..it keeps them fresh...

Place a half cut lemon in the refrigerator..it removes all the smell of the various dishes or vegetables we keep in the fridge and keeps the interior of the fridge fresh and makes it easy to clean...

I keep curry leaves in a jar filled with water. And it stays fresh for almost 10 days. :)

While cutting vegetables like brinjal, raw banana, banana flower(vazhaipoo) vazhaithandu etc (vegetables which will become black),

Add a spoon of salt to the water into which you put the cut vegetables.
It prevents the vegetables from becoming black.

I remove the outer layer of onion, wash and store in Air tight container in fridge. This way i could save some time.
