Kings XI Punjab will be taking Rajasthan Royals today.
Whom do you think have the chances to win?
With ace bolwers and batsmen in Punjab team and a master minded Captain in Jaipur Team the clash would be interesting.
Kings XI will walk in with confidence, team Jaipur is famous for losing quick wickets, if they win the toss they will make Jaipur bat, so that the chase will be easier.
What has Team Jaipur to do?
They may have to put up good partnership if they have to win this match.
Do you know which team is called as DESERT ROSES? If no, then you are at the right place. Malspie brings not only the scores but the strategies behind it, her personal review and also some interesting bit of news for you gals. Desert Roses is Team Jaipur (Rajasthan Royals) and none other than Shane Warne can think of such a beautiful name for his team. He has nick names for everyone in his team, but he does not call them by their nick names in public. Greame Smith is called ‘Rock at the Top’ Swapnil Asnodkar is called ‘Canon’ Shane Harwood is called ‘Cylcone’ Kamran Khan is ‘Tornado’ D Mascarnehas is ‘Terminator’ Abhishek Raut is ‘Young Gun’ Yusuf Pathan is ‘Lethal Weapon’ Mahesh Rawat is called ‘Reliability’ R Jadeja is ‘Rockstar’ T Henderson is called ‘Home Run’ Munaf Patel is ‘Big Fury’ Lee Carseldine is ‘Secret Weapon’ If Darren Berry is called ‘General’ The ‘King’s in undoubtedly Shane Warne
Rajasthan Royals v/s Kings XI Punjab at Kingsmead, Durban, Republic of South Africa, on 5th May 2009 Confident Skipper Yuvraj Singh of Kings XI Punjab let Warnie and his team bat, knowing quiet well they have never managed to establish good partnerships. Kings XI Punjab had decided to pack the batsmen of Team Jaipur as early as possible and with the help of their ace batsmen and wonderful bowlers taste the victory. Warnie as usual had some game plans, some strategies which proved lethal for Kings XI Punjab. You must have read in my reviews, Asnodkar has to be dropped from the team, finally it happened. Swapnil Asnodkar was dropped and walks in wicket-keeper batsman Naman Ojha the 22 year old lad who hit a six at the very first ball and let the fear take the flight and played a remarkable role in the 135 run stand. He smashed 51-ball 68 laced with 5 fours and 5 sixes. Greame Smith who had scored only 65 runs in 6 matches, scored 77 from 44 balls with 12 fours and 1 six rejuvenating the come back of Sreesanth – the king of ‘No Balls’. Lethal weapon Yusuf Pathan smashed 12 runs from 7 balls with 1 four and 1 six, Ravindra Jadeja contributed valuable 33 runs from 12 balls topping it with 5 fours and 1 six. Lee Carseldine, did not let his skipper down, he added unbeaten 16 runs from 9 balls with 2 fours. A Raut was also unbeaten at 1. With 4 extras in 20 overs and loss of 4 wickets, Team Jaipur went on to put the highest total of IPL Season 2 – 211 runs for Team Punjab to chase. Fall of wickets 1-135 2-153 3-164 4-203 ling R Powar 3-0-33-1 Y Abdulla 3-0-44-1 Sreesanth 4-0-44-0 I Pathan 4-0-40-1 P Chawla 4-0-30-2 Yuvraj Singh 1-0-9-0 Karan Goel 1-0-11-0 With excellent batting line up in Team Punjab, there was little to fear the massive total put up by Team Jaipur. The blow came in the loss of their opener Sohal for a duck before the team could open their account, then it was Karan Goel to follow suit, then Sangakkara was packed to his dug out at 11, Katich at 10, Jayawardane at 9, with Yuvraj Singh yet to come, there is nothing to fear for Team Punjab. The asking run rate had gone higher and Yuvi had to curtail his strokes to save the wicket. When I Pathan was dismissed at 19 from 17 balls with 2 fours, the hopes started crashing for Team Punjab. Yuvi pulled 48 runs from 37 balls laced with 3 fours and 3 sixes. P Chawla was out at 6, Sreesanth was unbeaten at 4 and R Powar at 6. With 19 extras, Team Punjab put up 133 at the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Fall of Wickets 1-0 2-2 3-25 4-29 5-39 6-87 7-104 8-127 ling A Singh 4-0-9-3 S Harwood 4-0-26-1 Y Pathan 4-0-28-1 S Trivedi 4-0-20-1 S Warne 3-0-28-2 R Jadeja 1-0-6-0 Greame Smith was declared the Man of the Match. Team Jaipur seems to have gained with the induction of N Ojha and A Singh who were successful in batting and bowling remarkably today. Amit Singh bowled exceptionally well with 3 wickets giving away only 9 runs in 4 overs. Team Punjab must be missing Ravi Bopara who has returned to England and may drop Sreesanth from their team in the next match! Rajasthan Royals had a 78 run win over Kings XI Punjab
