Default Was it right on Anju's part to pass those comments???

Last two days this is being splashed across papers, channels..ofcourse Dhoni has stolen the limelight with his controversial comments on not taking seniors.

Anju, in a television interview, had said though she would not like to belittle Usha's achievements but would not consider her as a world class athlete.

"I am looking up to only world standard athletes," Anju had said in an interview to Malayala Manorama Television channel, adding "Milkha singh and Usha are only Asian level athletes."

The whole athletic fraternity is upset about her comments.
Reacting to this PT Usha said "India is expecting a medal from Anju at the Beijing Olympics. If I answer to her comments, that will hurt her. I am not prepared to put her in such a mental state," she said. and also further said that anju grew up in front of her eyes and has lot more to grow..

I respect PTUsha for her goals. she is doing a great job of trying and training kids for the 2011 olympics. I still feel if she had the best that she is offering the kids today, she would have done better.

The same goes to milka singh he is a great one in his own right.

What happened to Anju bobby george..did success get to her head. she has had the Payyoli Express has her role model in her younger days. A single bronze does not change much..isn't it..or is it something akin to jealousy..or is it just the winning gone too much into her head..

Well whatever it is would wish she stopped giving comments and concentrated more at the tracks....

This is really ridiculous of Anju Bobby George to make such comments...while it is entirely up to each induvidual to choose their role models, it does not give them any right to belittle another's achievements in public.especially someone like P.T.Usha, who came up the hard way and carved a special place for herself as well as made the country proud.

it was so graceful on usha's part to refrain from commenting and saying that she didnt want to hurt anju....

whether it is jealousy or success that has gone into her head, the least anju can do is be civil and refrain from such uncalled for comments...who is she to judge other athletes, anyway? they have proved themselves long back and their acheivements shall bear testimony to their talent and prowess... they need no judgement as to whether they are world-level, asian level or whatever level......

you are right she has no right to judge them.but she has done it, when the referred people have proved their mettle and she is yet to prove.

getting media publicity for all the wrong reasons...

Yes nandu,

The lady in question has to grow up.

Well Dhoni has said that his decision to back juniors over established seniors was correct. . "I was pretty clear about the players I wanted in the side. It is sometimes very important to send the message across. That's what I said to the selectors as well. You can see the kind of team I got. It's very important because the process and the timing were criticised a lot,". and some one in the board(his name eludes me just now..) has gone ahead and stated as the Indian one day captain, Dhoni can pass any comments.. Actually sachin has stated his unhappiness over his decisions...

Dear Shanthi,
I too got to read about it.It was such a rude statement by Anju.Acheivement, small or big is really commendable. As you get laurels, you are supposed to be modest....but seems Anju forgot the ethics....
