Janani thanks. Yes, I light and burn it up and that too deliberately.

The burning and charring reminded me of my mil who is no more. she could even accept small spots that appear on rotis and dosas when cooking...she needed them cooked but without even brown spots..(forget the black..)..

nice to know you like charred bread...and to intentionally charr bread..what to say about it...

have a great toast every weekend.
Shanthi, I think your MIL was just ragging you. You must be a masterchef to make rotis even without a single spot. Actually the spots add to the beauty of the rotis. Spotless rotis! yuck. Imagine a spotless Dallmatian!

A hilarious post.
Jaishree some are born breadburners. They burn bread as if the act is in their genes. Others become breadburners due to their carelessness. The third catagory burns bread for the love of it. I belong to this tribe.

Burning midnight oil will only affect the biological clock and ruin the health. but burning bread would provide a gourmet feast (at least from my perspective).

Dear Balajee,

So decided, we drink at yr place and go out for the fish, how’s that !

Or better still we can eat in the thermocol plates, which need no cleaning.i am fine with that.

Malspie, I disagree that the smell of burnt toast is disagreeable. The smell is pure fragrance! If I invent a perfume the basic fragrance will be that of burnt toast! Thanks

Kamalji, I think after a few drinks we can walk off to nearby restaurants for fish but let me know when.
