Dear Kanaka, It seems from this that you love Goa and absolutely hate Mumbai. I have never visited Goa yet but would love to visit . It is not that a Mumbaikar refuses to move out of Mumbai.Still it will always be a special place for an ex- Mumbaikar ,like me .One cannot hate the place where they are born and brought up. meera |

| Dear Meera, For a Mumbaikar it is heaven. That shouldn't blind us of its rotten smell people spitting all over the place. It is a city of contrast- On one side tthere exist a huge multi storeyed buildings. It is painful watching beneath those ivory towers people living in unhuman conditions. Quality of life is the measure. Not the public utilities like air conditioned buses or multiplexes. It is a city of extremes. kanaka |

Dear Kanaka, The dirt, slums and contrasts which you have mentioned are not just a part of Mumbai, they could be found in any other city. But Mumbai being commercial capital ,everyone notes the contrast only there. But there is a popular belief about Mumbai, those who are willing to stay in that city,it never lets them down. regards meera |

| My dear kanaka, I had the good fortune to live in Goa for four long years. They were wonderful years. We lived in our colony in sprawling bungalow.Except that I had to make friends with snakes and smile at them politely or turn the other way round with out offending them. Goans are fond of music and dance,no?For this reason alone I love them.I feel that here are people who know how to enjoy life. Goans love their siesta.Even the shopkeepers won't do business between 2 and 4 in the afternoons. The are a closeknit people.Very friendly.I enjoyed my stay in Goa,my dear. I was attracted by the beauty of the place, the calm atmosphere which prevailed at that time(86-90)People who were peaceloving and cordial. love mithila kannan

| Dear Mithila, Gone are the days! We are busy building towers- Reliance salgaonkar Towers, Kamat Towers, Rizvi Towers. Every second person you meet is a contractor or a builder. Migrants have made this place dirty. All of us migrants. The whole world is a migrant. People migrate. geographical locations are migrating to different zones though in a slow pace. Unfortunately the population goa has attracted is the menial category. Goa as such is in a transition. Much worried about its identity. We all have multiple identities. Born in one place educated somewhere, working somewhere and our final resting place is elsewhere. Hope Goa doesn't lose its beauty. kanaka |
