Dear Vidya and saraswathi,

It was nice reading your b'day thoughts. This makes me to share my feeling abt the great day!

I have three b'days and i was not very sure which one to celebrate!. First one is the official b'day (as per the school records, it is 1st June), second is the actaul (!?) 26th September and one more on 14th day of Bhadrpada month!

Earlier days, my mother used to make payasam on 14th day of Bhadrpada (now she is no more) and celebrate my b'day. Later, office used to send a card / email on 1st June. However, my friends used call and wish me on 26th sept. Now, i want in a different way on 26th September.

This year it is special. I wanted to celebrate in a different way without announcing my age!. I just wanted to start a bhagavadgeetha listening session. I have a big house with a very good sit-out (20X20 ft) area. I planned to put ISKON CD, everyday one chapter and announce the same in our locality. Distribute a copy of bhagavadgeetha book to the people who attends all the 18 days. Any one interested can join to celebrate my Birthday!

Same will continue every month.

I mentioned saraswathi for the reason i too remember many people's birthday and make it a point to wish them and surprise them.

Birthdays are no doubt special days.There was a time when I looked forward to my and my husband's birthdays,and then came the daughters' birthdays that were celebrated in a slightly grand manner to make them happy.Now both of us look forward to the birthdays of our grandchildren and celebration take the form of going to temple and offering spaecial poojas for their welfare.Now is the stage when celebrating loved ones birthdays become more special.

I was my Dad's special child and he always used to tell me that the best day of his life was when i was born. You know what, those words acted as an inspiration in celebrating my birthday, why mine but everyone's birthday that i know of. How wisely said, yes as we grow i am sure our special priorities do change and it is really nice of you to celebrate the birthdays of your grad children. What more is needed to make ones birthday special than the wholehearted blessings of our dearmost patti and thatha.

What a wondrous way to celebrate a birthday in such an intellectual way..Your response really enlightened me. Also i was jumping wih joy celebrating just one day of my birth, now you say that you have 3 days to celebrate your birth....No wonder you are really too special..
