I wasn't an ardent fan of celebrating birthdays especially mine.......feeling that i had travelled all the bitterness in life to an greater extent and its almost half the way thru life But reading your post chilled my nerves......You are extremely right ....

I could totally relate to the different phases of birthday celebrations that you have so beautifully described. I think every decade in our life marks some sort of a transition -not just physically, but more so, mentally. The same things start having a different meaning to us, new things get introduced and some old ones are either done away with or safely tucked away in the recesses of our long term memory.

As they say, a woman in her 40s is what she has always wanted to be. So I guess our 30s is a very busy time for us - polishing and working towards that wonderful 40s milestone! Tons to celebrate, lots to assimilate and lots to reflect upon in this decade of our life. Personally, that's how I am looking at my 30s.

Here's wishing you lots of more reasons to celebrate.

You are a sweetheart. You know what i post with an expectation of receiving some cute feedbacks from you and my favourite writer Sridhar. Your feedback excels my post Kamla always....Mine is October 25th. I dont know for some reason my mom and Dad valued my B'day so much and still sends me cards and presents from india. Also i get to pull Arun to do some shopping with me for this cause. Otherwise he spends all his time playing cricket and volleyball and me babysitting vishal.

This year, I am celebrating my life. I am alive, gloriously and wonderfully alive. Somewhere in the world, the sun is shining gently and lingering winter breezes ripple through the gilded saffron petals of shevanti flowers. Somewhere in the world, people are walking around with the remnants of Holi colors in their hair and under their fingernails. Fall will come, and along with me, the rest of nature celebrates birth and life.I am alive. Is that not miracle enough?
