| Dear Kanaka, Well said. These days I would blame the parents more than the child. They push their kids to be superman, to excell in everything, instead of letting them be children and enjoy their childhood . I have seen so many friends of mind pushing their kids. One got the portfolio made of his kids from a professional photographer in various costumes, I talk of 10 yrs back, and wanted them to appear on TV shows. The kids were like 8 and 3 then. Others I have seen sending their children to music classes, play tennis, swim, and the child does not have time to eat also. Sam is someone I admire for his guts.Did u read about that article, where he ticked off Indira Gandhi when she wanted himt o attack East Pakistan , as Bangladesh was called then ?Gutsy fellow. We are ourselves to blame, why blame the judges, who too may be at fault, for excessive criticism. We take our kids to participate in these programmes. Regards.kamal |

| hi kanaka, i too agree with U and kamalji...first they are pushed into doing so many things that they hardly have time to enjoy their childhood...in case they fail isnt it upto parents to say it is ok the world is full of oppurtunities and u can try something else...i know parents who are so overprotective that it is always the teachers mistake in case the child does not do well,or the school or the other child in case he ges into any relationship problems with other children...while our children are our most loved ones it is good to prepare them to face the world...take failure in their stride but at the same time find out things that they can be good at....learn to adjust with their peers....so much to learn in life rather than compete all the time... | Kanaka, I had a chat with a school psycologist who was visiting one of my neighbours, and she used to say, even a your one month old baby is an individual in her own right..so don't force your views on her..I always remember that..and try not to force. We want our children to make up for our lost dreams, discontinued hobbies, wishes and forget they have a dream, wish. I only pray we allow children to themselves, not a replica of somebody you want them to be.

Dear Kanaka. Very Good Post... We must not force our kids at any case or circumstance.. this will really fetch adverse effects... And moreover Kids should not be reared too delicatley..they must be brought in such a way to face everything in life..that is the reponsibilty of the parents... I have a three year old kid..She is a small one but I dont force anything on her.. I learnt a lot like many of these from "HAPPY RAISING KIDS". a very Good Book.... |

| Hi kanaka, Thanks for the wishes. With a little suggestions and directions from other mothers and blessings of elders our kids will definitely grow as good human beings.. I wish and pray that they come out as good humans, than anything else.

| the girl was chronically ill from before. there is some problem in her spinl cord. but her parents forced her to dance which made her so ill that she may not recover fuly ever. show's judges have nothing to do with it. as she became ill after 20 days of her elimination and in between she has apperead for other shows auditions. |
