that was interesting sowparnika, thanks for sharing...in malaysia they started the veggie burger but looks like i was the only one who wanted it so they have stopped it....it is nice that they cater to local tastes....i am sure there are a lot of veg varieties in india... But even when i had been to europe in late eighties, they were the first to serve me the burger with lots of cheese and veggies without the beef ...same way i managed in the US too but the mac here will not do that or the malays cannot probably understand what i want....

hi balajee,
good that the Mcs in europe are well stocked in their salads...that section in their US counterparts are nothing much to write home about...as far as i have seen...
ha ha...so you got to sample beef too... :) i guess its difficult to make people in most other countries understand Indian food preferences...no beef, no pork...etc...more so in non english speaking countries...
the safest bet is to steer clear, when in doubt !

An excellent helping of Salad and a burger were good enough to keep you alive for a day. After relishing a cheeseburger one day I was told that it had beef. But strangely I didnt feel guilty and had to admit to myself that I enjoyed it though I avoided it afterwards!!

thanks for stepping in mindi...
gud that u were able to manage in europe and the US too...
when one of our friends went to europe andhe asked for a burger without beef, chicken etc, the lady in the counter gave an astonished look and asked him, "you want just the leaves?! "
bad luck that u find it difficult explaining to the malays!
