His wives's murders - Scene two

Hi all Scene two is ready ,bear with me as it is long.

Scene Two

Dr M shifted to a near by charity hospital about 30 km from this place after a couple of months .This was a small charity hospital with about 12 bed indoor ,a small operation theater Few Basic facilities provided for simple surgeries ,deliveries & inpatient treatment.Dr.M. Joined there as chief surgeon with her wife as assistant surgeon.
Oh yes! He had a new wife, he got remarried just after couple of weeks of the first wife’s death (? murder)
This second wife was a medico MBBS, (Dr Mrs. A).Was quite pretty lady.
She was working in his parental city under care of his parents, living in a house just near their home.
She was in love with Dr.M, but her parents didn’t want her to marry Dr.M.
So she left her parental home in protest & was working at this place, when Dr M’s first wife died.
They got married within 2 months.
Now both were working in the same hospital.
In the area they were known as quite a good couple, but reserved, not used to mix with other doctors in the area. They were thought to be little high headed.
Though people still sometimes talked of his first wife & the suspicious way of her deat

According to many she was murdered by Dr.M but due to his influence, Lack of any solid evidences & poor parents no case was registered against him.

In the coming years they made friendship with a locally famous physician & his wife & another renowned doctor couple having their own hospital in the place where Dr.M was working initially.

Few years passed, everything was running smoothly.

Dr.M was supposed to be gifted surgeon, Females used to visit him for all ailments & he was doing a great no of surgeries, especially removal of Kidney stones, appendix, Gall bladder stones &Hysterectomy (removal of uterus) even in young females of childbearing age.
How he used to convince those females for such surgery was beyond imagination,
He used to scare those female pts that if it wud not be done in time it may convert in Cancer in few years Fear induced pts to get ready for surgery.

So he did lots of surgery.

They were having a good life with all possible luxuries available there. He was a big fan of cars every new launch & he wud change old one.
They had a very big dog probably a “Great Dane” was very much loved & pampered but no kids.
Wife was a shadow, not very successful doctor, just doing the work as assistant doctor.
Around 1996 wife had a supposed surgery of? ovarian cyst diagnosed & treated by Dr.M only .He himself all alone did the surgery on his wife & wife also used to boast that she wud never get any treatment including surgery if needed from any body else.

After some time another single lady doctor enters the scene, joined as medical officer in nearby government hospital. A very beautiful lady of around 30 years, single daughter of old parents living somewhere else.

Dr.M.got friendly with her was seen in her company often, Wife Dr. A. was angry
They had some raw about this lady doctor but he wud not listen.

Than it happened so that Dr. (Mrs.) A developed some irregularity of periods & suddenly people were whispering that she is being diagnosed as suffering from ovarian cancer as reported By Dr.M.
But it was just a sonographic? Assumption.
(In sonography a doctor can only report a mass or lump, only by biopsy it can be confirmed as cancerous or non cancerous)
Actually was she suffering from Cancer of ovaries ?or it was a brain child of Dr.M himself nobody knew & people started gossiping that may be he wants to change his current wife with latest edition.
Their friends visited & advised to get the diagnosis confirmed at some medical college level or Ahemedabad or Bombay.

He said- no it is confirmed. Wife was also in agreement??

On much insistence he took her to Head of the Department Gynec at a nearby medical college hospital .The senior doctor after examine said – Are u mad? She is just a healthy lady with little problem in her periods requiring nothing but a simple hormone therapy. I think it is you who needs the treatment. These were the exact words.

Dr.A. was much elated that she is not having any illness.

It is a mystery that how or why he again confirmed diagnosis, convinced the wife & said I will operate on you.
Can anybody believe a doctor operating on there near & dear ones when they can have many choices, not even an emergency.
Nobody can believe that a lady of child bearing age having no issue yet and with a question mark diagnosis of cancer wud submit herself to such a big surgery where removal of uterus with both ovaries must be done to prevent spread of cancer.

His friends & acquaints advised him to take her to Mumbai or some other big place.
In reply he said –Oh! No, there is no time to be lost.
As the disease is far advanced and there much valuable time wud be lost in further investigations & waiting period

Nobody knows why cudn’t the wife denied surgery in such a remote place for such a big diagnosis.
She knew the affair with this new lady doctor, she knew about the first wife’s death (? murder) But like a fool? or a person under hypnotism, she was constantly praising his surgery & was ready to get operated only by him.

His parents arrived prior to surgery; mother was a very snobbish high headed lady.
Father was a retired prof.
Dr.A’s mother (father was dead) & brother also arrived.
How he convinced all them that operation is must & he wud operate in his own hospital in this small rural village is beyond the understanding of anybody.
He got all the chemo drugs to be given after words (no biopsy was taken to confirm the diagnosis)
In the mean time he had also befriended a local anesthetic Doctor & asked him to give her anesthesia.
Before one day he asked cardiac monitor equipment from near by another hospital, stating in writing that his wife is to be operated. When he was advised that he can also have the ventilator machine he said Oh! I wud not need that (an essential machine for emergency)
The D Day arrived, he took her in surgery, she was looking pale in a pale gown but she climbed the steps to lie down on operation table.
Operation went well a normal looking uterus & ovaries were removed.
Recovery for first two days was normal.
On third post operative day he ask his local physician friend that today is very risky night if the complications wud occur this is the day so wud you & your wife stay with us in ICC.
They agreed.
In the night the physician’s wife was sitting near Mrs.A. Pt was sleeping lightly. Dr.M arrived at 3 Am, asked Physician’s wife that if she needed to use bathroom, she said no I am all right.
Her Husband was sleeping in the same room on mattress .As Dr M.insisted him to get a shut eye.
Suddenly after few min he spoke –
Oh! look bhabhiji How the cardiac monitor is behaving, how is her heart beat racing ,she saw no change in pattern & said that I am not adoctor ,shud I wake my husband .

Oh No need, I will give her an injection & let’s see. She wud be settled.

He withdraw a injection from his pocket & pushed contents through the Intravenous potency line ,Mrs. A pulled her hand suddenly ,made painful face & wanted to say some thing but couldn’t and lo Her breathing stopped!
He cried Oh look she is not breathing, the physician awoke , Tried to give her artificial respiration ,No needed equipment was there ,the anesthetic was called from his home ,the heart was still beating , Both physician & anesthetic tried all measures but no result .
Dr A. was dead. The news spread like a jungle fire.

Within two hours he took the body for cremation.
Can any body believethat he put the body in his maruti Van ,No death rituals were done not even his mother said anything about it . He himself drove in his Honda city to crematorial ground ,all other people walked on foot refusing his lift , within two three hours the funeral took place.
He didn’t even remove his shoes at funeral place. As soon as the pyre was ignited he took out water bottle from his car & drank water there & then only.

The news spread like a jungle flame ,who so ever listened the news said yes we knew that he was going to murder her. The gossips & rumors were everywhere. He came back from funeral ground and believe it or not he ordered lunch from nearby dhaba & went in his quarter.
No remorse.
Dr.A mother & brother were divested but nobody knew why they didn’t demand a post martum.May be they were afraid of him, or he convinced them the gravity of diagnosis. They returned to their home in another city.

The physician couple was also very scared ,Thought he wud put the blame on them .As he has used them as an umbrella to cover himself if any thing goes wrong. Silently they returned to there home. Knowing in their heart that he in front of them put her to death
.
He was saying operation was a successful. Only the complications of cancer resulted in her death. He was very sorry .

Same evening he visited the other lady doctor .
