Will God approve.....

....Same Sex Marriages?

I know, I have touched non-so-often discussed topic. But hey, world is changing and we are not tied down by our tradition anymore, atleast not like in 1950s. We may never know what our next generations might fall into.

I guess many of us do believe that there is some superpower and if its so, do you think he/she approves this?

Let me know your thoughts.

If God is going to approve this...why He in the first place bring in man and woman into picture...one gender is enough and so His job of creation is lessened..
I don't know the answer, if He won't approve, why He gave them such thoughts...

I feel that those with the tendencies are not to be blamed .,There are a victim of certain abnormal (or rather not the real normal) a mix up of many imbalances genetics,trauma etc. I shall not delve into the clinical complexes here. They forever live in a shadow of guilt and suffer from acute anxiety syndrome.

I feel that now the society is kinda opening up to them as in not shunning them as before .Also there are certain celebrities getting into same sex marriages and they find the social support in them.

As far as your Q is concerned Nandhu, God disapproves of a lot many things which are happening around us . The topmost coming to my mind is adultery, bigamy etc. But that doesnt stop the do'er from indulging in it.And these acts are sinful as they are voluntarily , but the gayism is not .It is involuntary. A person is born with it.

I guess as a part of the society we need to accept each human with their short comings ( especially one that is not in their hands and is internally sown) and give them support. After all life is not just to live but to LET LIVE!!

Hi nandhu, as per my view, this act is unacceptable one. Our culture is highly developed and will never approve such an act. self discipline is first principle of our indian culture, which many of us have forgotten and people are chasing behind the western culture which practices and allows such thoughts and acts, by doing this people are losing their actually precious original identity. So such act should be disapproved by us.

A very thought provoking question. Personally I feel the answer is yes. I mean same-sex attraction is not something that is new or that is being aped from the west. It has existed throughout the ages. These folks may not be in the majority but that does not mean they are to be ignored. The Greeks were (once upon a time) predominantly monosexual. And coming to our own dear country, it was the British who introduced the law(in all their ignorance) banning same sex marriages and made it a criminal act. The act also declared all transgenders criminal. Till then we were a highly developed and tolerant nation and such widespread social stigma was never attatched to the monosexuals or transgenders. It is now that we have become intolerant and highly judgemental.

Before we pass a judgement on them, I wish to ask you all to think about this - if the majority of the world were monosexual and heterosexuality(the present so called "norm") was a rare occurence, would all of us who are heterosexual like to be condemned? Would we be able to control our desires, discipline ourselves and become monosexual? So let us not be judgemental and let them live like the human beings they are.

So I would say, God made them so, and we have to accept them as God's Creation..right?

Probably they are less privileged to love the opposite sex and thats god punishment in this birth to them for some Sin done earlier

His way of balancing life in the planet!!

If i am right this was common and not considered bad in Ancient india, If you have a closer look at various ancient scriptures they have accepted it as a normal in the society, It was medival India which made so many Stringent rules as well as wrong assumptions

Hi nandhu, does everything happening in the world is god's wish, no i dont think so. God gives a pure mind and soul at the time of birth we get polluted in this world as we are more susceptible to wrong things nowadays.

In chennai a sixteen year old painter boy has faced charges of molesting a four year old girl, the former has confessed that he did it he was provokes due to porn sites in internet, can god take responsibility of such things, its ridiculous he must be punished severely and should be taught that all indians are brothers and sisters except the one your marry. People just utter this but dont get it into their souls while here are in schools. I feel gay marriages should be punished as equally to child molesters.

Good topic for discussion. It is legally announced in US now that people of same sex can get married in the court. Not in many place at present yes a few it has become legal. What can one do if they are happy with it, so be it that way

To answer your question, no..I don't think so..God will not approve of same sex marriages.

That said, one cannot point out God is responsible for all these feelings, then this may be a way out for all the heinous crimes and negative thoughts stemming out from all people.

So many murders,rapes,robberies are being committed even now, so does that mean GOD approves them, just because he is allowing them to happen?? No !!

As for same sex marriages in US, it is now legal only in 2 states- California and Massachussetts. It is recognized only at state level.

A controversial topic. I suppose the marriage that had taken place this week is the trigger.

Let me tell you of an marriage that has happened i suppose it was erode. X is a executive and Y is a 11th std student. Y stays with 11th according to people around. but Y sports a thali (mangalsutra..) they got secretly married in the temple. y waits to come back home before X comes and do all the wifely duties. X and Y are both male. this was a story that was reported in reporter last year.

Will God approve...are we doing things that are all approved by God.

Though it is against nature. some exceptions and corollaries to a existent theory are always there. there is no restriction on your preferences.

We know about gays. what about the lesbians growing at equally faster rates..

Again it is a very controversial topic to be looked at with a humane heart...and taken with a pinch of salt.
