Hi All,

This is one of the frequent happening crimes in india and abroad. and moreover thanks to the craze of online shopping that is catching all over.

This is what i would say:
1. Keep track of your credit, debit cards at all times.
2. Just ensure you use your little finger and check for any gums, or cellophane tapes that could be stuck to the card slot in a atm machine..(this i learnt from Veda)..as that is the most common way a card number is duplicated.
3. Always check your bank account (in case you have a internet banking facilities) for any differences.
4. Always keep track of the where the person takes your card to swipe in a mall. I know sometimes your card goes from one floor to another is some of the leading shopping centres in chennai....
5. And never keep your pin number along with the card. (Don't think what i am quoting is silly, because there are people who write the pin in a paper, and keep it along with the atm/debit card..)
6. Never store the key information on your pc...
7. Try to avoid using the card in places where you are not sure/comfortable.
This is addition to what others have added.

Dear Shanvy

Thats true becos once in India when I finished off my ATM work a woman stood near me and asked me to help her withdraw money for she didnt know how to operate ATM also sadly she didnt even know to read English.. I helped her and after withdrawing money, she didnt even thought of taking her card and I called her and tried tutoring her as to how careful she should be..

Its getting serious..

With increasing pace in price hike we cant afford our money let go like this..

luv
Lakshmi

hi lakshmi,

That is not surprising. I see everybody wielding a credit card and debit card these days. what with the banks and financial institution wanting a piece of the cake, the competition looks high.

May be some serious education towards this is needed.

(P.S. I don't have credit cards. And use my Debit cards very sparingly...)
