| Dear kamalji, that was funny...u going with a mournful look on your face reminded me of a naughty girl archana in my class who was always late and one day got caught by the pricipal...immediately she put on a sad face and smoothly lied..... i lost my grandfather sir...and we all tried our best not to laugh...yes brought back memories of those funfilled days.......for me school days were more fun as i did my CA along with my college so really no time for fun.......and yes lucky for your children that u have not pressurised them...my DH would say that is why they did so well and made u u proud....all the very best to both of them... Yes college days are fun, no care in the world And I can tell u the next best fun days are the blogging days as of now.You can be a kid here, and talk yr heart out, and tell yr stories and hear others tell stories on various facets of life. And I am sure , that like me, u too must be in a different world when u are here at Indus. So don’t leave How’s that ? Regards.kamal |

Dear Sri, Yes everyday u read in the papers that some student somewhere committed suicide. I try to tell everyone, that marks are not the end of the world. If learned people like Narayan Murthy, and Tata made money, then we have examples of unlearned people like Dhirubhai Ambani, Bill Gates and Warren Buffet in this world who too have made their name and fame and money in this world. So don’t lose heart, maybe u could not become an employee of a nice firm, but u could become a big entrepreneur yourself and employ thousands in yr company. God is always with those who have faith and work hard.It is good to hve marks, but sometimes better still if u don’t have them. Regards.kamal |

| Dear Kamalji, That was a wonderful post ! I was able to relate to the college scenario very well having come with an all girls background ! My best wishes to Sita ,I m sure she will do well! Its nice to know you dont pressurise them but yet they have been coming up with fairly wonderful resu;ts.I guess when there is less stress it invariably helps in the performance. Yes the number of suicides in and around the campus have increased .Feel really bad about it , I guess a lot of counselling is required nowadays not just to the students but to the parents as well. Very well written Kamalji ,I thoroughly enjoyed reading it! Regards, Devika

| Dear Kamal You have written so well about the zooout there.. First of congrats to having successfully educated your daughters.. Kudos to Harsha as well. ![]() Not an easy job. Even after all these years I remember what my father went through. Every single paise would have to be counted. You know back then a lot had to be set aside for marraige. Let me share what happened when I was submitting college applications. My father wanted me to study a B.Sc degree. I was weak in Math and did not want to do it but B.A was frowned upon by community. Even B.Sc was nothing if you did not study for engineer. So when I got into B.Sc, my grandmother raised a lot of objections. When asked why she objected, she said B.Sc has got 3 letters and when they searched for groom it would B.E only 2 letters. So will someone marry me if I am more educated.. get it?? ![]() ![]() ![]() So congrats on your daughter's educations. Great job both of you. Also noticed the difference in rates . Thats how it is. Nice to hear how you kept a sincere face and got the air tickets pass! Wonder how she fell for it?? Wonderful about the dog and monkey playing.. so glad you didnt say the girls looking like monkey playing.. Maybe our esteemed universities should use YOU as research material.. bec of your way of thinking of Romeo! That lesson learnt is exactly what my father taught me too.. ![]() Good luck again to daughters. God Bless:) |

Life is so simple, yet we humans manage to complicate it I want my kids to get slightly less marks but have a time of their life, which will not come back to them. You and me remember those carefree days, when we had no responsibilities of family or kids or spouse.I want my daughters to be free like a bird, soar at will. And we are not a family where our dayughters have to be working, to be able to get a groom. We are a business family, where ( hope it carries on), where there are arranged marriages, with the consent fo the couple of course, and wher e the husbands earn in their businesses and the wife is the home maker, but an educated one. So the pressure to get high marks for jobs is not there, and for me marks don’t mean that a kid is smarter. So why complicate life Devika.I tell daughter to watch movies go out, with friends( girls of course) HAHA, and read novels watch movies, in short hve a great time, and to also learn basic cooking as who knows they may setle aborad and they may need all thopse skills there. I am teaching Sita now, the financial skills to hone her, which will come in use later in life. Thanks for yr wonderful comments.Regards.kamal |

Well that was the case then, and today too in our community, girls are more educated than men.My wife is BSC and i am intermediate pass, not even a graduate. That is why i call myself uneducated ![]() But i guess my English is not that bad is it Chitra ? Well i put on a very sorry face , no shaving, looimg like a poor middle class fellow who dosnt even have money to shave, so maybe she took pity onme.Imagine if i had gone all suited booted, she would have given me the Boot instead.HAHA.Whatever saves me money i am game for it. Well Chitra for the fees Radhika used to pay, u cant expect Elephants to Dance in yr college can u ? ![]() Trust me to come up with silly blogs like these.Regards.kamal |
