Default Far...yet near

Dear friends,
One day as i was gazing through our car, this time our daughter was driving...I noticed that the right-side mirror had these lines----CAUTION; OBJECTS IN THE MIRROR ARE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR.
I saw the left side mirror and it doesn't have any such caution.
I think in India this caution appears on the left side (right-hand driving) and not on the right.
One thought came to me...in our day to day life what things match this caution:
Here is the list of my thoughts ( why lists all the time, you may wonder, it is due to writing of grocery lists, wish list before the groceries and the tally list later on..)

1. With the invention of telephone....we can hear our beloved ones voice CLOSER though they are FAR..

2. With the invention of Internet....we are enjoying our friendship through this..eventhough we are FAR..we feel CLOSER...best example is our IL.

3. Tomorrow...though it seems FAR..it is CLOSER.(it never comes is another issue)
4. The next hour----- though it seems. FAR...it is closer by 60 min.

5. At the advent of the next year---we always exclaim,it seems like that year has just started see, we are into a new year...FAR but CLOSER.

6. Growth of our children---it seems FAR.. but by the wink of an eye...they are grown, which is CLOSER, isn't it..

7.Our aging process... we may feel young but our biological clock ticks.. we may think it is FAR but it is CLOSER..

come on with your lists, friends....

Smile Re: Far...yet near

Bhargavi,

An interesting and thought provoking topic !

Yes, just this Friday, when the schools closed for summer, we exclaimed, "Wow, this year seems to have gone by so fast, much quicker than the previous year!"

And we seem to say this every year...:)

It feels that only yesterday, my kids were toddlers playing and running around us, at home, in the park..totally carefree and today they are bogged down with too much work at school, diverted by video games etc. Never expected that these changes will happen so fast ! Yes..it did seem FAR..but it is CLOSER and NOW !! Amazing !!

As for internet, the world is at our fingertips and makes all of us closer. All the information is available just by the touch of keyboard !

But, what we need to understand that "Time and Tide wait for none".

It is upto us to make use of this time efficiently !

Mainly, we must live and enjoy the present to the maximum without too much worry about the future.{ Of course, it is essential to plan for our future in all aspects.}Because these precious moments may never come back when our kids grow up.

Hope I have not diverted the topic...yes...these things may seem FAR, but are much CLOSER !

Cheers
Krithika

Hi Sri,

I wonder the way to the idea struck by u seeing the caption.it seems u possess creative thinking.

If u ask me,firstly,i'll come up with my summer vacation(childhood days) at our grandma's house. The vacation used to be nearly 1.5months,even though after staying and enjoying such a long time,i used to wonder how the days passed so quickly
secondly, i will say abt sleeping.Yup,after an hectic day of household chores,we will go to sleep,we think we'll be having a sound goodnight sleep of 8-9 hrs, when i open my eyes,it dawns.

will comeup with more if anything strucks me

Cheers,
Spandhana

Enjoyed your fb...I thought I can answer you immediately but this time, my travel seemed FARTHER than CLOSER..(.we had a 6 hour to and fro trip...yesterday)

the points you had pointed out are sooooooooo true...the summer holidays for the children, the growing up and planning for the future ( which is a must) because they are NEARER than we expect....tooooo good..

Spandana,

Big B,

Good one !!.. After internet, world has become so smaller and closer..

Personally,

It was as if I just came back from this new years party and already am thinking about thanksgiving and the next years parties now

Every week,

I will be

:, sunday - Monday blues
- Wednesday - Half of the week is gone
- Friday, its fridayyyyyyyyyyyyy
- Saturday, I always love saturday nights [ Sometimes, we might have special class saturdays.. but sunday is always fun.. So sat night is the best]

Every week runs faster than the week before.. Thats how I feel nowadays...

Sriniketan : Good points, it is like the nationwide insurance commercial - Life comes at you fast, before we know it our kids are grown and have moved on, guess the important thing is to cherish every moment.
