| Proabably I am the odd one out, who does n't feel even a bit of hitch in disposing it in dustbin. I believe that no invisible spirit can enter any non-living being unless we consciously invite it in. Until then its a piece of paper, nothing else. I would rather feel skeptical to eat non-veg than worry about non-living thing. There are people who eat the cow we worship. And contrary to our belief God doesn't punish them too. So anything which ties us in unseen zone with unproven facts is nothing but a hidnerance to free living. If God really wanted us to bother each minute about Him, he would have pasted his picture on each and everything in nature. Rather he chose to keep himself undefined and shapeless. I would rather let Him be that than visualise him in packages or anything. So my dear friend free yourself of these inhibitions. Cause they are just captured in our mind than anything else. ria |

| Krithika, I am also in the same boat...but what I do is, I have a separate dustbin for putting all those used pooja items and throw them in the garbage separately..(what to do) I don't mingle with other garabages.... But sometimes I do keep all the pictures for some days or even months..but once that 'first feeling' has subsided and convince myself that God is everywhere and He knows what I am doing..etc..and then throw in that dustbin which I keep separately... sriniketan

| dear Suni, Why all apologetic, friend? Probably in some countries, they package the groceries without printing the Gods/Godess pictures on them. Of course, agree with you that God is within us..just like the rest of IL'ites ! :) Thanks for sharing your views here... Cheers Krithika Quote:

| Dear Devika Chechi, Thanks for the explanation ! I assumed Kalash must be next to the temple...sorry about the confusion ! :) Glad you clarified this ... Cheers Krithika Quote:

| I too agree that God is within each and every one of us. But as far as these paper bags and plastic bags are recyclable, I am fine with that. For daily flowers etc., I put them in a mulch pile or in plastic bags before disposing them. |

| Dear Sudha, Seems like you too share the same sentiments as many of us. And yes, I've seen the God's pictures not only on tshirts and bags..but shoes too..in many stores..that really disturbs me. But what is the use in explaining the significance to people who are not even aware of our culture and Gods? :) Yes, we need to ignore these or it may turn into a combat with our sanity.... ![]() You are right..the manufacturers need to change the way of packaging. Glad you like this topic and thanks for sharing your views here... Cheers Krithika Quote:

| Hi Sowpar, You are right..it is impossible to collect these bags/covers and sure , we need to dispose them. It is good that it does not affect you much..:) And yes, recyclables need to go to the allotted totes here. Thanks for stepping in and sharing your opinion... Cheers Krithika Quote:

| Hi Ria, You are not the odd one...maybe you have a different approach/view. And yes, God has better things to do :) than monitor whether we throw these bags in trash or preserve them. Yes, Ria..slowly I will get rid of these reservations...true..it is all in the mind ! Thanks for sharing your views... Cheers Krithika Quote:

| Hi Bhargavi, That's what I also do...have a separate bag for collecting all the used pooja items..so I dispose the grocery bags/plastic covers inside this initially. Later on..to the main tote. God is within us, He is everywhere and would not mind these things...all this the mind knows..takes some time for the heart to understand ! :) Thanks for stepping in and giving your views..
