Thanks for taking in the right spirit. The word "Guru" is a little too much for me . I am not that proficient as you say that too when compared with our tamil poets here, I should say that i am nothing.

Moreover, in tamil even if one letter changes, the whole meaning changes.

I can never forget these lines. I was less than ten years old when that serial was shown on tv. But even now i remember the scenes, the black umbrella falling down from the top of the building for instance when the character played by Mr.Varadharajan was to be shown dead. There stands Mr.K.B! I could not stop myself from laughing seeing some death scenes that too specifically on fridays (i guess this is bcos they believe the viewers will hold their breaths till monday to know whether that character is really dead or not) n that scene will keep extending till next friday until some other character suddenly realizes his/her need to say, 'Sari pona usura yaaralayum thirumba vaanga mudiyaathu. Inimae varuthapattu endha prayojanamum illa.' Its hightime that K.B sir make a re entry to again show others how really decent a serial should be!

for many years gururangan was prakashraj's name...we always said he was so great in that serial that not a single episode was missed...sometimes the electricity made havoc and my mother in law used to curse for not having gururangan coming over...ahaha...

Same pinch again. Even i used to call my friends n ask if i get any doubt pertaining to films, tv(only abt films n tv). For a moment i really thought the song goes like, ‘butter doesn’t know who made it’ seeing ur post as i have not heard the song of that serial before n was confused why a song which shows a girl playing with veenai should be about vennai.

I remember almost all the characters. Gururangan, his mother, Geetha, Renuka, Kavithalaya Krishnan, Gururangan’s lover, the three kids n that too the picture of the younger girl Shruthi sitting n singing songs infront of Nallennai JeyaChitra are all still afresh in my mind. Wow! You took me back in time. Even i used to curse when we had power cuts when it was shown.
