| Do you pray to God everyday. Is there any specific time you have kept for your prayer? I have seen my Christian friends going for Mass prayers, to the church every sunday without fail.It is a treat to watch the family from the youngsters to the eldest getting ready and going for Mass prayers,it is very important for them. I have seen my Muslim friends, many of them praying six times a day.Devout Muslims would never ever miss their prayer time. I have seen Hindu friends going to the temple on particular days, some people go tothe temple on fridays, some on tuesdays, some on saturdays depending on the day that is the special day of their Ishta deivam. About praying at home, there are some who do elaborate pujas every day, some do puja on fridays only . In my case I dont get time in the morning to spend peaceful time in the puja room ,with out interruption. So most of the days I hurriedly say a shloka ,do arthi and complete my prayer. In the night, before I crash on the bed,I stand before my maker. It may be in the bedroom only or in the hall or in the puja room. This is when I take my own time to have a dialogue with the Supreme being.I bring my children and their spouses one after the other before my mind's eye, I pray for the children ,separately for each of them, requesting God to bless them with good health. Then I bring my grandchildren before my mind and again I pray for each child separately begging my maker to show mercy on them and to take care of them. The I bring my husband before my mind and I pray for him.In this manner I pray for each memebr of the family and ask God for their good health and mental peace. Once I complete this ritual I am at peace and I go to sleep with a light heart feeling secure that I have spoken to God and he will take care of me. How do you pray? mithiola kannan

| Dear Mithila M'am, Praying and Thanking God should not be missed in one's everday Life ... So, when I wake up in morning, I put Cross seeing St. Joseph's statue with Infant Jesus, which is in infront of my house ... I do my prayer when I go to bed ... I pray 'Our Father in Heaven' and 'Hail Mary' ... finally with my thanks for everything he has given and my humble request for my near and dear ones ... I pray for everyone I know ... My parents, my sisters, their kids, my In-laws, their daughters, their kids, then my kids, my hubby, New Friends, neighbours, even If I don't know their names I remember their face and pray for them, then for IL friends, IL people who needs our Prayer together and for those who are suffering and struggling in life without food, shelter and clothes, for orphan kids, for handikap kids in all over world... finally for myself to give strength for leading my family well...

| Dear Mam, I liked the way you said that you would bring each and everyone in your mind and pray for them individually. Morning and evening I lite the lamp and recite some shlokas. Would recite general and specific slokas for that particular day. Do some neivedhyam like fruits / rice / kalkandu. Here in this part of the world getting fresh flowers is a little difficult cos we need to go to a particular place to buy them. Every friday would say lakshmi ashtothram and do kunguma archanai and every pournami (full moon day) would do villakku poojai. Would prepare venpongal, chakkarai pongal, vadai / kalanda saadam for neivedhyam. Before going to bed would stand in front of shirdi sai, pray for sometime and then go to bed. |

| Mithila, Nice to see how do you pray with keeping in mind all the family members. I too pray after taking bath in the morning..and in the evening and before going to bed..even before taking food, I offer prayers... As mentioned by you, will pray for the family members and for those who need His help, and for the world as a whole...to live in peace...asking forgiveness ..and also convey my thanks to Him, then and there... sriniketan

| Dear Mithila Mam, I really liked the way you said how you bring to mind each and everyone of your near and dear ones and pray for them. That is such a nice thing. I have to say I am going to emulate you here! In our house we have the habit of lighting lamp both in the morning by husband and by me in the evening and reciting some Shlokas. We also go to temple mostly when we feel the need to feel the calm, quietness and the energy of the temple. |

| Dear srama, Every one of us have our own way of connecting to the supreme power above us .Sometimes one may not have the time to allot time for prayer but the will be immersed in their work.To them work is worship. There is nothing wrong in it I suppose. love mithila kannan

| Dear sri, Offering thanks to Him for whatever he has given us and asking him to help us through tough times do give us solace and the sense of security that he is there to help us. Thanks for stepping in. love mithila kannan
