My only suggestion, is don't curb his inquisitive curiosity and enthusiasm. Get as many books as possible.

My son when he was in 6+ he read some book (I think it is a collection from th e India book house) and asked me this "Mom, I know that a twin is born when the egg breaks into two.I want to know when it breaks, and how, and how can the tummy hold two babies." I had to read about it again and tell him in a polished way....

Dear Srama,

Your are so lucky that you have a child who has been blessed with exceptional intelligence. A matter of pride , of great pride to have a prodigy at home.

Do encourage him and help him in honing his skills. What has been bestowed by the Almighty has to be used to the fullest . Children are pretty inquisitive and we must make it a point to quench their desire to know more about various aspects and facets that intrigue them. Patience is very essential here. And the kids today are of an higher IQ level. We can look for an intelligent future.Abundant knowledge is available everywhere these days in the form of books, websites ,etc. Proper guidance will defiitely benefit these young minds.

I wish your son lots of success in life.God bless!!

Love,
Devika

Thank you slp807 and Devika for your wishes - I do really believe that all these are wishes are true blessings!

Devika, yes these days kids are much smarter and mom always says that she does not even remember how we all grew up - whenever I speak about my kids activities with her. I am sure a lot of us are in the same boat with inquisitive kids. And you are right with so much information accessible at finger tips, it is much more easier to reach out to our kids.

Thank you and once again appreciate your comments.

So there are occassions when he wakes up early to try and see a meteor and is constantly thinking about asteroids. At the same time, he is curious about life, how plants grow, how babies come, how animals come etc. Recently we had bad storms and a Robin's nest had fallen off the tree and we saw some eggs that had broken too. And we got to speaking about how chicken comes out of an egg, how eggs of different birds are different colors and also about us being vegetarian etc. We usually have very intense realistic conversations and I tell him everything as is, no made up stories.

Well, if you are wondering about how these two are related, here's the story, this evening he suddenly said "I think now I know how babies come". And I said, "Really how do you think?" He said well you have an egg inside you and when a meteor like thing touches the egg, a baby comes. Honestly it took me a minute or so to correlate that by meteor, he was thinking of the sperm (head+tail=meteor), ofcourse about which he doesn't know. I asked him how do you know about this? He said well you took me to the bodies exhibit and there I saw pictures of meteor/asteroid like things in the body near an egg! and I haven't explained any of this to him when we took him to the exhibition. I couldn't help but share here with you all.
Wowwwww..

Srama..thast really nice to read about your little genius son... Kudos to him..... Really babies are nowadays very intellectual dear.. We dont undestand many things what they say.. have to admit ......

Dear Srama

Indeed today's kids are quite precocious. I should know, I have two sons who
have driven me up the wall with their zany queries. But secretly, I loved their questions, that was the best way for me to learn the basics that I had forgotten
long ago.

Even today when I sit with them for helping them in their studies, I feel glad that I have been given an opportunity to vicariously live my student life all over again- but this time without the fear of exam tensions !

regards.

Dear SRama,

Your son is a genious to ask so many intelligent questions. Most kids these days just want a mobile or some games to play on the interenet. But yr son is interested in life itself.

God bless him, and one day he will be a big man, seeing his characterics now itself. He may or may not excell in stuidies, but he is sure to become somebody.
