| I fell in love ,my dear, again and again! It is a universal truth that any sane human being, man or woman has to get attracted to the opposite sex, that is, to put it in a simple manner,he or she has to fall in love, sometime or other, atleast once in their lives. If anyone says,” No,I never fell in love with anyone, not at all” ,I feel sorry for that person.Falling in love and going through the myriad emotions that the experience brings out in you, is something wonderful that no one should miss.It has to happen,my dear, for is it not the law of nature? The lotus blooms out on looking at her lover the sun,the moon comes out in the nigh y illuminating the sky and bringing out a shy smile from the lily which waits for his arrival. The earth waits patiently,my dear, for the RainGod to come thundering down and uniting with her and blessed are we, are we not?Nature shows us ,my dear, that love is divine and to fall in love is the most natural thing to happen in the life of a man or woman.I too fell in love, my dear ,at the tender age of 14/15.Oh,how I pined for this young man but he would not even give me a glance.I used to cry in the silence of nights into my pillow,”Oh,Philip wakem, don’t you have a heart? Here Iam,a nice, not so bad looking young girl, ready to give my heart to you on a golden platter(,those days my dear gold was relatively cheaper),you have eyes only for that stupid girl,Maggie”.Yes,PhilipWakem, the lame young man, who remains devoted to Maggie ,the heroine of the famous novel ‘Mill on the Floss’ was my first heart throb. He loves Maggie as no other man would have loved a woman. The fact that she does not reciprocate his love in the same way does not deter him at all.He is by her side through thickl and thin.Even when Maggie elopes with another man and is forced to comeback, his love for her never changes. Infact, his love and his desire to protect her remains intact.Matchless love, this one.Long after Maggie and her brother are dead, this young man could be seen most of the time near Maggie’s tomb,my heart aches remembering that immortal scene, etched by George Elliot, even now.No wonder that little mythili was attracted by Philip’s undying love for Maggie and wanted it for herself. Whoever said that women are fickle minded must have been a sage. For No sooner than I knew that Philip was not going to look in my direction,I forgot all about him and then happened Mr.Rochester.Rochester ,my dear, is a wealthied, strong willed man in his mid forties. His strong chacter, the way he carries himself attracted me to him.But he carried a torch in his heart for the plain looking ,simple girl Jane Eyre, who enters Rochester’s house as a governess to his child.Rochester loves Jane for all her matchl;ess qualities, she may be poor but she has pride in her poverty also, never will she give in to the riches, she has her principles and sticks on to them.Rochester nodoubt is smitten by her.Jane who has never enjoyed love and affection knows that Rochester loves her and her heart reciprocates his love. In the moving scene where So ouit went Rochester,my dear and into my heart entered RhettButler.Aha!What a man he was?My God?He had eyes only for Scarlett O’hara. Not that I dared to pronounce my attraction for RhettButler I knew that I could not hold a candle to the immortalized beauty of Scarlett O’hara.RhettButler loves her,he is mesmerized by her beauty, admires her courage under the most trying circumstances and is amused by her foohardiness.Neverthe less he loves her deeply and poor Mythili is left holding her broken heart in her hands. Many such attractions did happen, my dear, but they evaporated.Love or attractions evaporated but the fragrance that these attractions left behind still lingers in my heart. When the summer shower falls bringing with it its own trademark scent, when the cukoo cries,”cuckoo ‘in the late evenings, when I see a certain flower on the roadside my thoughts go back to those wonderful days and memories flood my heart,my being. But the real love is by my side in the form of my husband. Finally Mythili’s search for love came to an end. He is very strict,I call him The Village School Headmaster,he is very disciplined but there he is holding me by my hands and walking me throughthis journey of life.He is very keen that I should not get hurt. When I cough a little too much he stops whatever he is doing and makes sure that I take my medicines, when he hurts his finger, my heart aches. This is love, atleast I like to think so,my dear. This is love for all seasons. Last edited by mithila kannan : 9th June 2008 at 12:52 PM. |

| mithila, You very much disappointed me at first and I waited and waited for the list (vambhu dhaan) and you were roaming through the books and admiring heroes over there..just kidding... It is that age... we live with those characters...not bad at all... The concluding one is the highlight of all and you did not disappoint me in here... True this is love for all seasons..you had succeeded in your love... sriniketan |

| Dear Mithila, Yes this is love – a true love that cannot be compared in any way to all the ones we had in our youth. In our youth, that was a selfish, one sided, conditionery and agonizing love, but this – this is eternal, this is selfless and this is the one and only. Blessed are those for whom this works out…. Very nice, subtle but perfect – talking about your DH. God bless you both.

| Dear Kamalji, They say that men look as young as they feel and women look as old as they look. How hypocritical!By all means you can fall in love but why should you select a Rakhee sawant and Mallika? You can fall in love with some girl like Vidya Balanor Trisha.I think your wife is charging towards me with a belan in her hand, let me run for cover. | Dear venus, Thank you so much for those lovely words. But you have said the love that happens at young age is onesided and selfish.I don'r agree with you my good riend. The love that happens at young age may turn out to be a crush which you tend to forget if it does not culminate in marriage, but while it lasts it is beautiful.More often than not sex is not in the picture at a young age.Alook a smile a blush is enough to set the heart beating fast, how wonderful that moment must be! Thank you for your good wishes to both of us.My husband joins me in sending you and your family our blessings and good wishes. love mithila kannan |
