Default I Know

Dear friends,
I do really hope that these conversations below is the one either we ourselves used many times or heard others use it too...isn't it....

'I know this will happen".
"I know, I know"
"I know you will do like this.." etc...

What does these " I know' mean in each and every instance...do we really mean 'we know' or is it just an escapism from a serious topic or from a serious person..
or do we want others to know that we know...or is it like anything like adding an 'etc.' after the list of words, to show that 'we know' more than that..

'We know that 'what we have learned is like a handful of sand.. what we had to learn is like an ocean...."
so why we use those 2 words...on a day-to-day basis..mmm...
As a result of these thoughts, I use ...aamaa (yeah)...how is that...
I know you will give me a fb....or shall I say 'yeah' you will give me a fb?

Dear Srinik,

All that you have said...

'I know this will happen".
"I know, I know"
"I know you will do like this.." etc...

If a person says all these things... either he should be confident in his work and knows what will be the action/reaction... or this is just a gas to impress the opponent... If the person is confident the he should have already drawn up his own plans to this or if he is not, then he will be looking out for some excuse...

It varies from situation to situation and person to person... and it cannot be categorised or generalised...

My views...

Veda

Yeah ( i know) it will vary according to the situations, from person to person, but when we hear all the time these words, I really wonder, do they really know?????

Hi sriniketan,

The words "I Know" reminds me of the famous Raghuvaran's movie "Puriyadhe Pudir". When he happens to c his wife with her friend (His assumption is Boy Friend), he utters these words around 20 times.

Usage of these words depends on each person. They would use it for escapism, they would know for sure, or they mean that they have guessed it.

Dear Srinik,

Thanks...

I have a collegue, who will start every sentence with..."You know".... Some times it used to be so irritating.... Once I told him..."I dont know"... But he has not understood... I also told him, not to start with "You know"... But he keeps continuing... So... I left it.. No choice...

Sometimes, it becomes a mannerism.... or their style of talking... may be...

Veda

Sharadha,
I do remember that movie....but it is kind of irritating isn't it....
I agree with you but some use those words to irritate us a lot....

Veda,
when your friends says 'You know'....you definitely knew him and left the matter as it is...
Their style or mannerisms, true....

Kamalji,
You know, we have no other choice except to carry on ....
