Dear Ramya,

This story goes straight to one's heart and touches where it hurts most, it touches our conscience.
I think almost all of have house help and maids in India and almost all these maids send their children to work often. When questioned, they always give a lame exuse saying that presently the child has school holidays etc etc. I also know of few cases where the mother has been confirmed to send her children to school and further studies. But they are few and far between.
There are going to be many many Gowris and not all the blame can be placed on Kamakshi ammals. It is a very vicious circle.
This post has touched many ILites and you have been repeatedly nominated for FP with this piece, congrats!
You write well, hope to read more from you.

L, Kamla

Dear Kamala,

Thanks a ton for considering the story for the FP, i have always been moved by the way you address IL's here .. yes absoultely right.......Our maids work hard for us . even i do follow a habit of helping my maid i.e whenever i buy some new pencils , books or anything new for my kid i buy a set more for her kids too..

Thanks for the feedback ......

my dear ramya,
Such a heart rending story, told so well.I could not but allow a few drops of tears to peep out of my eyes,it is hard to lose one parent at such a young age and Gowri and Ganesh lost both their parents.I only pray to God that he gives themsunshine days in their future.
Atouching story,very well narrated.
love
