| The other day there was IPL match between Punjab XI and Mumbai Indians which my son was watching intensely. Suddenly, he switched off the TV and went away. I wondered whether the match was over and asked him. He said that Mumbai Indians required 2 runs of the last ball and he could not bear the tension and he switched off the TV. Later, he became sad to learn that Mumbai Indians had lost by 1 run. I just teased him saying Mumbai Indians would have won had he not switched off. In my younger days while watching movies I couldn't watch tense scenes and used to bury my face in my lap and wait for the scene to end. Once when I went to my home town, my nelpew small boy used to spend his time by the window sil watching the street. One day, he suddenly started shouting and crying. The reason was that the wheels of a bullock cart was stuck up in muddy street and the driver was beating the bullocks with his whip. My nephew was pleading ' Some one please help the bullock cart'. I was impressed with his humanitarian attitude. But, I could not control my laughter when eventually the cart moved and on the opposite side of the road one madari was having a show with his monkey. The stuck cart was blocking my nephew's sight of the show. Can you bear tense moments? Please share your experience. |

| Hi geetha, there is some sort of thrill in being tense in happy events like waiting for your results...but horrible too when u wait for your medical reports...i too wonder how people on stage manage to have a straight expression when the winners name has to be announced for all these fashion and singing shows...then while driving i i tend to scream a little when a sudden brake is applied or cat/dog is crossing... | Thanks Priyam and Mindi for visiting the thread and posting nice responses. I forgot to add the tense moments my son is undergoing expecting the release of Kamala Haasan's Dasavatharam. He was not so tensed up expecting the results of his exams. Now that it is being released on June 6 he has become cheerful. Last edited by Geetha Iyer; 23rd May 2008 at 07:43 AM. |

| Hi Geetha, I used to have tensed moments whenever the heroine was in trouble or when the hero was being beaten up by the villains. I used to bite my nails so much that a time came when there was no nail to bite. Thank goodness I did not bite any one else's nails. Everytime the teacher gave away answer papers, I would be tensed, thinking of the after-effects at home. When I was young, I asked my friend to count the stars in the sky. He was looking up at the sky and counting. He did not realise there was a dog sleeping on the way and he accidently put his foot on it. It bit him. Ever since I have been having tensed moments whenever I spot a dog.

Thanks for visiting the thread. I am happy to note that you are also tensed up during movies. Luckily these tensions are momentary and afterwards you reallay get nice releif. The IPL match went to the wire as they say and I read yesterday that Tendulkar and co. have complained against umpiring. It is really unlucky for Mumbai Indians. Love, Geetha Iyer |
