dear Sundari,

Beautiful photos of dear gulmohar. It has become a part and parcel of Bangalore. When we were kids, we used to play with the pollens of the flowers. You brought the childhood memories back to us.

Thanx a lot.

And there are those yellow flowers too (dont know what they call them!). Lalbagh and most of the roads around it are beaming with these flowers...it offers such a serenity there...those being my daily trodden roads.

Dear hema,
the yellow blooms are caribbean trumpet trees, and jacaranda which is more lavender are now blooming all over bangalore as they are in season...sunkan

Dear sundari,
You brought back memories to me.We have a house in Uthandi in ECR Road at chennai. When we planted the sapling little did I realise what pleasure it was going to give me in the next four years. In summer the leaves fall and just before the tree starts blooming the tree looks barren, and slowly the magic happens! The tree has only red flowers and no leaves,it is such a beautiful sight.I enjoyed this beauty for three years before coming back to the city.We call it The Flame of The Forest.
love

you are right mithila,
each one of us can connect with this tree due to the coloring, i remember on my train trip to meerut to see my daughter and suddenly as i crossed the south and entering into north.

the entire forest burst in flames of red flowers, which they cook over there, and the vegetables available was also different, it looked like payathanga but not so when u pick it, and some bud like stuff which they make into sabji, i asked the company driver bholeram to get the cooked stuff just to see what it is like, though it is not much to our taste, thought we could do wonders with our own masalas.

when one ventures into the world of nature never to forget each scene is well captured and from time to time they come out to remind us of so many things, little nuances stored up are a treat any day, and gulmohar is one such..sunkan
