hello Mam, very well said.It is always the parents responsibilty to bring up their child as a mentally and physically healthy person.otherwise whatever we do for them, in the end only tears remain. soji

Dear soji, Yes.Parents play a great role in shaping the personality of their children. They have to be affectionate, caring and no sacrifice is big for the sake of their children. But they should also know when to say,"NO". mithila kannan

My dear Ramya, Thank you dear, for those kind words.Having a sibling is wonderful my child, but due to some reason the parents opt for a single child or it happens so,then the parents should know how to mould the personality of the child and thereby his/hers life. mithila kannan

My dear dear sathya, wonderful feed back. You could have written on this topic,my dear.Your words made me think deeper into the issue. Yes those were contended days when a woman tended to the homefront only, now she has to be a multi tasker.Notwithstanding that parents of single children have this guilt complex or self pity, after all he /she is my only chils and to make up for the attention they dont get from siblings who dont exist, they pamper their children. mithila kannan

My dear rs, What can one do if siblings are not there? The parents have to go out of the way to cultivate relatives and friends and their support in bringing up the single child. They should instill in the child love for others and the desire to share things with others. They should not feel that they are different from other children and so can do what they want. Thank you for the kind comment. mithila kannan

Dear aishu, Thank you dear for those inspiring words.I always look forward to your fb,that serves as my tonic, boosts up my energy and spirits. Yes girls who do not get guidance from their parents particularly if they happen to be single children face tough times once they get married.Thank HGod that the girl you mentioned was not in a hurry to get married with that frame of mind.Once she understands what life is all about and realises the importance of give and take in family life she should ofcourse get married and be happy as every humanbeing is entitled to be happy. mithila kannan

My dear mindian, Nice to read your mail.Iam happy you liked it.In my own family I have seen single children being pampered by parents who regret their mistakes later on. Iam sure your daughter is growing up as a fine lady and surely she will make you proud. Yes,my dear.My elder daughter said one day,"I want to give my daughter the freedom that you gave us,nothing more nothing less".The younger one told me,"When you were strict with me in my growing up years you looked like rakshasi to me.But now I understand why you were so strict. When Iam a mother I will also be a caring and careful mother like you".Hope I dont sound as if Iam boasting.I feel happy thats all. mithila kannan
